  1. AHC: Stop the Confederacy from seceding

This isn't *quite* that, but in the novel Underground Airlines, the author posits that Lincoln is assassinated en route to the inauguration in the Spring of 1861. The shocking event stuns people on both sides of the Mason-Dixon, and a last-ditch attempt at reconciliation is attempted. This...

If Nazi Germany had had industrial parity in WWII, would they have won?

Given the limited size of nuclear weapons and number at the time and an intact German airforce and air defence, I do not think it would have much impact.
  3. WI: European fascist parties resisted the Nazis?

All across Europe, local fascist parties collaborated with the Nazis in their respective countries. In the end, their collaboration destroyed their movements after the war. Only the Communists took up the mantle of anti-fascist resistance, thus becoming lionized to this day while the fascists...

    Horse mounted infantry for COIN

An excellent way to work them to death. What did they expect would happen? They had the same problem in WWI

If Nazi Germany had had industrial parity in WWII, would they have won?

Hitler believed the way Germany would be destroyed was by cutting off Germany access to resources and food. As these are no longer an issue the need for a war of conquest is not as pressing.
  7. Portuguese Cabo- a TL

    Yes, IF they conquer Natal.
  8. WI: The Soviet Union survived as a rump state in Central Asia?

To be on the pessimisstic side, there probably will be a lot of arguments over where does the USSR's treaty obligations go to. Where would the nukes go to? And where would the USSR's Permament Security Council seat go to? Russia or the Centrasian USSR?
  9. Portuguese Cabo- a TL

Yeah. Dutch Cape hardly drawed anybody after initial 50 years.
  10. If Nazi Germany had had industrial parity in WWII, would they have won?

Where are you getting the people to work the factories, to raise the food and to man the military? The attacked the majority of the world. You are not going to equal the majority of the world when you are one medi sized country.

Under wings of the Zilant: a Golden horde timeline

Honestly I would like to help but I have no experience as a writer , deep knowledge of the area or even a native English speaker , sorry man . if I try to make a production it would seem like our boy Timur will leave a long lasting Timurids Sunni Iran

While researching Wikipedia on the African states of the Sahel and Gulf of Guinea, I discovered that in the 17th century an African King tried to invite a Spanish delegation to convert to Catholicism and obtain an alliance with Spain. Unfortunately I have lost the name of this King as well as...

'Sanity options' for the Italian army, 1935-42

The Esercito's X Army, for all practical purposes, tried that one against the British desert army in Egypt and that did not work. Short answer is that it was not the carro veloces or the trucks and armored cars, but failures to supply water, ammunition or prepare to receive a semi-mechanized...
  14. No Carolingian conquest of Saxony

That's certainly a possibility. However, if the Carolingians persist the Saxons could probably convert to appease the much larger empire, like the danes IOTL

A 'smarter' NATO cartridge strategy 1950-1980?

M14s were junk in not the way you think. The early rifles had a tolerance problem, the parts were manufactured with a very tight, close tolerance. The gas piston on the M14 was almost six times closer than what had been acceptable with the WWII era M1. Both Melvin Johnson and John Garand agreed...
  16. A 'smarter' NATO cartridge strategy 1950-1980?

Basically the general problem with a common ammunition at this point is, as has been pointed out, the US had taken different lessons from the war than had the British/Europeans. Both had fought a global war and both wanted to combine the ammunition requirements of certain sections of weapons...
  17. No Carolingian conquest of Saxony

There is some chance they actually reform their religion in order to distance themselves from the Christians. They could then ally with the Norse and Slavs and form a separate bloc in Europe.
  18. No Carolingian conquest of Saxony

Why would the Saxons partake in the Viking age? I'd say that they would still become Christian, just a little more gradual.
  19. AHC: Non-European Colonial Empires

Is there any chance you could get Japan involved in the Americas? They're going the long way around but the Spanish managed the trip regularly as early as the 1500s.

Has anyone done a good Alexandrian Empire timeline? Talking about the Ptolomies here. The closest I could find was a Cleopatra self insert but that's an SI, not a timeline. Anything?
