The New Order: Last Days of Europe Thread II

Interestingly there were cases of French Fascists joining the Resistance. In the interwar there was a Secret Fascist Paramilitary called La Cagoule who wanted to overthrow the Popular Front Government, they were caught and disbanded. During the war half of the members either joined the...
  4. Galloway and the Plan of Union: A Saga of a British America

To be fair, India was under company rule before 1857 and even then they abolished slavery in 1843, with it only being considered criminal under the British Raj with the Penal Code enacted in 1862.

It and other works of that era provide a rare glimpse into rural life nearly 50 years after the Revolution.* *OOC: this is lifted directly from The Foxfire Book (1972)

The New Order: Last Days of Europe Thread II

I have played as both, both are nice but don't have the same tree diversity as other unifiers (the only thing that changes between Oktan, Bunyachenko and Zykov on suprarregional is a small five focus tree) I put Zykov as the second best autdem route for russia, only behind Stalina. The problem...
  7. Request for focused speculation- How does *Russian* behavior diverge if US stays out of WWI?

I have difficulty believing the outcome of US non-participation once we get into 1918 is a healthier than OTL situation for the Entente powers, not only Britain and France, but the Russian Provisional Government as well.

  9. WI: no Charles Martel

This is very interesting. I still feel like Francia would be important, for that to not happen, you’d need Clovis to not exist, and I feel like the Carolingians would still take over the Merovingians, but Frankia definitely wouldn’t be the dominant power though. If you’d like me to, I could...

I only played Bunyachenko. And he is indeed, as his focus is on Rapid modernization and industrialization. He resembles South Korean dictator Park Chung-hee.

WI: Canada accepts Article Eleven and joins the United States?

Yes I agree that a Quebec that revolted alongside the 13 colonies could of gained independence but then I wonder how territory expansion would of been

What if the InterWar RCN was given the same portional funding as the RAN?

Agreed. I forget how large they were at the time and how that compared to (old) Panamax, but they were very large, and were why there were such large ships on the upper lakes and not on the lower ones.

As Dreamers Do: American Magic Redux

Pego-Oliva, Cabanes-Torreblanca, and Santa Pola seem to be the most likely candidates according to Spanish news sites and contemporary accounts (who all point towards Valencia/Alicante). For me, it's probably either Santa Pola or Pego-Oliva, depending on how willing ITTL Disney is to preserve...

What if the InterWar RCN was given the same portional funding as the RAN?

OTL had Canada paying for app 70% of the C$470million cost.I will guess and say what was built in Canada was paid for by Canada and what was in the US was paid by the US.Makes sense. And i think the soo locks were the largest in the world at the time. The soo locks were the longest but not the...

PDWs as spin-offs from the 'Artillery Luger' in widespread use in 1915-1945

That'd be a pistol calibre carbine. I don't like being a terminology freak, but PDWs were meant to give rear eschelon units the capability to defeat body armour (needed to defeat the anticipated Soviet paratrooper assaults) without going as far as issuing them a rifle. The anti-body armour...

I googled Poujade, he was a populist and a member of the resistance, so he gonna be my second route A sad thing is that he met his wife in Algiers after the city was liberated by the americans after operation torch, so he probably won't be married on TNO, F Edit, I was reading his wikipedia...

What if the InterWar RCN was given the same portional funding as the RAN?

Cost would likely have to be split with the Americans. iOTL it took 5 years to complete during the 50s. Factoring in the tech difference, maybe 7? It'd be a huge pay off though, Midland and Thunder Bay had cruiser size slips! Not that I'd necessarily want them building cruisers, but being able...
