  1. American Economic Integration (US as Rome)

This will hopefully be a fairly free wheeling discussion, inspired by my thoughts in a thread in the FH subforum that was pursuing the tried and true formula of the US as the new Rome. My position boiled down to this: if America is the new Rome, it needs its own Socii. There's no reason for them...

WI: The Enterprise completes its five year mission (Star Trek survives for 5 seasons)

It would be interesting if America avoids the swing so far to the 'right' this timeline. I'd imagine that would change the sci-fi of the alt late 70's and 80's quite a lot for example how much Utopia is in TNG. Also a Reagan in 77 is not going to be able to swing as much deregulation etc as...

The Golden Gate, 150 years after "The Fall"
  4. "What Madness Is This?" Volume II: Prophecies in the Dark

Holy forking shirtballs, I wonder if Herbert W. Armstrong will have a cameo as one of the many possible Second Prophets before the rise of Graham, with his right hand man Lazarus Hubbard.
  5. As Dreamers Do: American Magic Redux

1: You forgot Daredevil. Just putting that out there. 2: I feel happy to see a confirmation that The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh still exists. 3: Does this mean that Disney owns Rocket Robin Hood? If so, what would happen to Argonaut Software when Star Fox begins development in the 90's...
  6. Place In the Sun: What If Italy Joined the Central Powers?

How does Germany fare against the USA in this timeline? In economic power and power projection.
  7. What if Europe stayed primarily united as an empire as China did?

What if the Roman Empire lasted longer united or the Carolingian Empire empire did and expanded etc. If instead of fragmenting into often hundreds of different polities into the middle ages and beyond, Europe stayed primarily united like China did?

    The Post-Apocalyptic Picture Thread

Trying to see what's "Post-Apocalyptic" in this pucture?

Ottoman Empire continues to consider itself successor to Roman Empire following Mehmed II's death

Keep Skanderberg Loyal. As such without a heavy distraction Mehmed II can focus solely on southern Italy and conquers it.

Ottoman Empire continues to consider itself successor to Roman Empire following Mehmed II's death

A good possibility for how this could occur is for the Empire to end up being a Greek-speaking Muslim state with Muslim Greeks instead of Turks being the core of the Empire.
  11. AH Timeline: The NHL-WHA merger: A different story

I could see the first two moving. Despite what seems to be a lesser Canadian downturn ITTL, Winnipeg is still a small market team and without the salary cap to help even the playing field would be icing lesser quality teams year on year. The Capitals seem to have had even less success ITTL...
  12. AHQ: Stable succession system in Byzantium

That seems like it would depend on what losses they took defeating Thomas, in a timeline where that happens. Could be close. I think that might be worth a thread on its own though - no civil war/rebellion by Thomas vs. one he wins vs. one he is beaten by the Bulgarians might be interesting to...

    Threadmarks: Disney TV Animation Filmography

Grantray-Lawrence (Founded in 1954; A fully-owned Disney subsidiary since 1975) 1954-68: Walter Lantz farmed out many theatrical shorts to Grantray-Lawrence, originally founded by Grant Simmons, Ray Patterson and Robert Lawrence as a commercial house. Also, GL co-produced Yellow Submarine with...
  14. AHC/WI: austria expands more into Italy

How to get Austria that expands much more into Italy and less into Balkans? In 18th century we have to end up with Austria controlling at least half of Italy.
  15. No Collectivization in the Soviet Union

The "Scissors Crisis" was that of the regimes own making. They basically wanted to steal the grain rather than actually paying for it.
  16. What were the biggest tech and weapon mistakes and missed opportunities of Germany in ww2

Still they would probably better than Panther and almost certainly Tiger tanks. IMO a tank that has problems going 100 KM without breaking down has serious problems.
  17. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

BTW, just to give an idea of what the movie version of Misery is like in OTL, here's the infamous hobbling scene (and its toned down from the novel--and still very disturbing; you'll have to go to YouTube to see the scene, since it can't be shown here):
  18. The Stomach of Man Under Socialism: A Culinary History of Socialist America

I wonder what is going to be the next. I feel like the Patty Melt is one of those dishes that could have taken off ITTL.
  19. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

With regards to Serial Mom, assuming it's still made in TTL, here's who I would cast as the main character: Kathy Bates. Why? In OTL, she played Annie Wilkes in the film version of the Stephen King novel Misery--and was so good she won a Best Actress Oscar (1) (and, assuming the movie version...
