Of lost monkeys and broken vehicles

    - So, where did you say you got these ammo and weapons for us? - It fell off a truck in Greece. - How much? - All the truck. Azores is a Portuguese territory. I guess you meant the Canary Islands.
  2. Explain the AH Quote

A speech by an ambassador from the United States of Europe to the Holy American Kingdom. The former was founded when the Dutch Republic ended up merging with the Duchy of Lorraine and would exploit the problems of the Holy Roman Empire and of the French to annex bits and pieces of each before...

AHC: Wank the US crack epidemic

Do the same as was done with oxycontin and other prescription pain killers get doctors to prescribe it.
  4. How would RFK handle Vietnam if he won in 1968, in your own personal opinion?

Would the South Vietnamese Armed Forces be in any shape to defend the country though if RFK withdrew earlier than 1973? After all while Nixon's OTL Vietnamization policy wasn't exactly a rousing success it did at least get the South Vietnamese to the point that (with US air support) they were...

What could have been some alternate Cradles of Civilization?

I think Cradle specifically means home to the development of an independent (or mostly independent) system of agriculture. While the mississippi of course was host to its own civilization, the agricultural package of that civilization was ultimately derivative of the Mesoamerican Cradle.
  7. A7 Corsair II kills the A10 program

Yes they did, but again the devil is in the details. The F4K did not have a stall speed 20kts higher than the A7, although the F4J might have. The Speys gave a lot more bleed air than the J79 to run a much more powerful BLC than USN F4s while the Spey installation had a 2 degree downward thrust...

    Es Geloybte Aretz Continuation Thread

A little surprised that the Ottomans straight up annexed Armenia (and Kars, and Batumi, and Tiflis I suppose), but not Azerbaijan and Baku...unless they did I suppose? Since Persia still has Tabriz, that border would look pretty ugly tbqh

AHC: Wank the US crack epidemic

The CIA realizes that it would be tasked with investigating itself should it be suspected of trafficking cocaine, and decides to make the allegations true.

WI: Canada accepts Article Eleven and joins the United States?

That is what we have been saying for several pages. But at this moment only lower Canada existed. There was no upper Canada.

AHC: Stop the Confederacy from seceding

Have the northern states secede instead and create the there own new nation. That way the southern states will not secede.

WI: Canada accepts Article Eleven and joins the United States?

At this time weren't only modern *Ontario and *Quebec considered to be part of "Canada," hence the designation of the former Province of Quebec as Upper and Lower Canada in the 1790s? Weren't the Maritimes considered essentially different from "Canada" until the Confederation?
  13. PDWs as spin-offs from the 'Artillery Luger' in widespread use in 1915-1945

I'd rather have SMGs being produced in the new production lines, with old production lines making PCCs. Or we can't because we don't have them. IIRC I've suggested the 9mm, .45 ACP and 7.62x25. The .32 ACP or the 8mm Nambu seem to max out at 150m when fired from SMGs (effective firing...

How much different would cancelling operation Barbarossa make on WW2

They did say "when in the national interest", which propping up the Xinjiang government was. The USSR was hardly backing the CCP in China to the hilt during the period of the Long March and had their hands in a great deal of pockets in China, not just the communists. The policy was hardly a...

T.E. Lawrence is not dead, no ;) He also won't enlist in the RAF under the given circumstances. He also wouldn't have worked in the British administration 1919ff. in the first place because he did that IOTL as a close associate of Churchill, who was still a Liberal then, and the Liberals have...

Sounds great. Not sure we're you're going to find all the fuel and liquid water on the frozen steppe. Steam is great if you have time, patience and skill. As you said, the mud was a killer. 10-30Hp is not enough. Half of the Feldkunche is wood fuel 😔 You're planning to rebuild these carts as...

"...Campbell's death that May led to the appointment of John Abbott, a fellow Senator, aged 71. Abbott is best remembered in Canadian history as a footnote; after the long tenures of Macdonald, Tupper and Campbell, he made it only to November, in such poor health he could barely see or stay...
