Well, I just learned something today. Thank you.

One of the major issues is that the Empire started late. Had it begun its aggressive expansion in 1790 instead of 1890 it would have been little different than the other colonial powers who were busily piling up native populations wherever they could be stacked. It didn't. The Empire missed the...

Exactly when was the Meiji Constitution amended to prevent the IJA and/or IJN from being able to bring down any government by withdrawing their minister? To Quote Dune: "He who can destroy a thing controls a thing". The IJA and IJN controlled Japan's government. That is, pretty much by...
  5. The Worst WWII Alternate History Cliche

An interesting argument. Not that I agree with it. It effectively means that the senior Japanese leadership was, from the outset, functionally insane and fought a war using tactics that would result in unsustainable casualties and inevitable defeat. It makes them a dozen times worse than the...

Actually by 1894 the Indian Wars in the American West were effectively over, not that this excuses what is one of the darkest events in American history. The Spanish American War was much of a land grab as such things go. It was primarily fought over Cuba, which was an independent country post...

The IJA was an INCREDIBLY well disciplined force, at least below the rank of Captain (once officers got there they started to become willing to ignore orders, by the time they hit Bird it sometimes seems like it was mandatory). Imperial other ranks didn't scratch without authorization and the...

It would be fair to say that there is a sub-text that I hope you did not intend (and based on your posting history I do not believe you did). The post has a "white-washing" tilt toward Imperial Japan's actions. At least that was how it was reported.

Malarkey. Imperial Japan was a hyper-agressive military dominated de facto, if not de jure, military dictatorship basically from the adoption of the Meiji Constitution until the document was entirely rewritten follow Japan's surrender. Constitution ratified 1890. 1st Sino Japanese War...

Pretty much correct. The issue is advertising (spamming, if you will) within the actual post. Ian has already ruled that putting a link to your work in your sig is okay, even if it is to a commercial site (like Amazon). Putting it into the actual post, however, crosses the line. Ian will need...
  11. How bad would WAllied casualties be if the Reich defeated the USSR?

It would need to be a combination of stiff beach defenses that at least channeled any landings into kill boxes and strong counter attacks. The key question is if the WAllied forces could get air supremacy, not just superiority over the beaches, but supremacy extended back for at least 250-300...

Not sure what the hell is going on here. Until you clear it up you're grounded.
  13. How bad would WAllied casualties be if the Reich defeated the USSR?

Close to impossible. Not impossible, given enough time to prepare the battlefield, but close to it.

Know, with the certainty of gravity, that if you post another spamming for funds inside one of your posts again (even if you make it a link called "Notes") and it is reported, you will be on the next train to Coventry.
  15. How bad would WAllied casualties be if the Reich defeated the USSR?

The glib answer is that I wrote a book on the subject, available on Amazon! :P The real answer is that I doubt the WAllies would even try, at least without a REALLY strong additional provocation (a la the AANW St. Patrick's Day attacks or some similar assault). The difficulty is less engaging...
  16. How bad would WAllied casualties be if the Reich defeated the USSR?

Not in my opinion. The Boer were not really a established nation state, although they had tried the end result was always going to be a take-over by a colonizing power. Its the same reason I didn't list the Israeli War of Independence, but only the '67 and October Wars.

This probably should be in the HoI, but... Posting, without a trace of irony or disagreement (note that the rather feeble attempt to distance DID NOT HAPPEN until the poster was called out by other members) that African American = Crime isn't cultural miscommunication, it is bigotry. It might...

Well, the good news (for you) is that you managed to hold off until you aren't trolling straight out of the gate, so you avoided one of the Eight Ways to Crash Land. That pretty much concludes the good news. You DO NOT, in any way, shape, or form, get to insult other members or play Moderator...
