  1. Crusader Kings II - Paradox Entertainement (02/12)

Well no, but why should I care? The next rebellion is as easily settled as the first one :D
  2. Crusader Kings II - Paradox Entertainement (02/12)

Well my own strategy for dealing with rebels is quite a bit simpler: I don't care about rebellions and just assassinate the rebel leader anytime there is one, which I can since I don't spend any money otherwise (except on my retinue). Throwing money at the problem really works in this game ;)
  3. Crusader Kings II - Paradox Entertainement (02/12)

While others have already mentioned fabricating claims, you, since you have an Emperor-level title, have a much better way to conquer territory (which isn't applicable to the pope but otherwise much more effective): invite claimants to kingdoms to your court, land them with single counties and...
  4. Personal unions that never were

And how do they get a child to inherit? :p
  5. Crusader Kings II - Paradox Entertainement (02/12)

There is a province finder, you know.
  6. Crusader Kings II - Paradox Entertainement (02/12)

I suggest attaining a title outside the de jure HRE, for example by taking a duchy from somewhere else with lower CA and making it your primary title, which allows you to still war against everyone else in the realm.
  7. Crusader Kings II - Paradox Entertainement (02/12)

Agressive negotiations. If a bear walked up to you, you wouldn't want to screw it either. Also, can you marry him?
  8. Crusader Kings II - Paradox Entertainement (02/12)

I hate the mongols :( Their army is small compared to mine but the lack of attrition makes it impossible to fight them at the start. In my new game I started as Poland 1066, quickly inherited the Kingdom of Ruthenia which also include Rus by that time, formed the Wendish Empire conquered my way...
  9. Crusader Kings II - Paradox Entertainement (02/12)

Thanks, didn't know that. Still, even if I played them I would run into the same problem as them: All the good bits are taken by forces almost as powerful as they are.
  10. Crusader Kings II - Paradox Entertainement (02/12)

I don't think they can be played as long as they are not landed. Their doomstacks are still full, one in Brittany and one in Cornwall.
  11. Crusader Kings II - Paradox Entertainement (02/12)

Has it happened to anyone else that the Aztecs just sit there with their two doomstacks not doing anything at all? That happened to me in a game where Western and Central Europe was dominated by a three huge empires: Scandinavia + Wendish Empire + Scotland + Ireland (I wanted to create a...
  12. A Shift in Priorities

Well, the reports might be very unreliable. Maybe the only ones with working communications where quite a ways away, saw a huge explosion and just assumed that most of them were dead.
  13. Eisen, Blut und Fernhandel -German Unification in the 1860s

Well, that is a wierd PoD. From what I can gather from the quotes it seems like the German Unification will be more peaceful than OTL. The consequences of that alone will be quite interesting to see. Good luck on frequent updates!
  14. The Rise of the Tri-State World Order: A Timeline of Orwell's '1984'

Congrats for the nice work. While there are of course some quite far-fetched elements, I don't see anything that is more out there than the book itself.
  15. Map Thread XI

What happened in Central / Western Europe?
  16. I <3 cigs

Maybe that surviving state keeps the people in line using multiple kinds of drugs (one of them being tobacco)?
  17. AHC: Independent Socialist Germany

I'm not sure if that could work. There were too many monarchists and anti-democrats in Germany to keep even the republic really stable. Socialism / Communism would probably just create more problems. Does Germany have to be a self-proclaimed socialist nation? Or can they just be one de facto?
  18. I <3 cigs

The placement of the thread suggests you want a POD after 1900. At that point in time I don't really see a POD that could so drastically alter smoking in either way. However, I am not really too knowledgeable about the topic, so I would be glad to be proven wrong.
  19. Ghosts of Fashoda - a TL without an Entente Cordiale

I'm getting confused. Will there be a map in the future?
  20. Ghosts of Fashoda - a TL without an Entente Cordiale

Very interesting. The Balkans as always are a mess but Austria-Hungary mostly seems to be doing kind-of alright. Question: As Von Schlieffen is still in command, will there be an attack through Belgium in the next war against France? Or will that not be necessary as France has a much less...
