  2. A Blank Map Thread

I'm pressed for time and don't have the time to look through the entire thread, but does someone have a blank Yucatan map, or even better a map of the entire Mayan area? Thanks, Zizon
  3. Flag Challenge

While looking at a World Map with all the nations' flags I noticed that there were only 3 flags that didn't have either red, white, or blue in them (Jamaica, Mauritanie and Libya). So my challenge to you is to make a flag for an existing or alternate country without using red, white, or blue!

My MoF 9 entry: Britain, France and Russia take up Djemal Pasha's offer to overthrow the rest of the Young Turks in 1916 due to Britain being able to placate France from her demand of southern Cilicia in return for control over Irak (this was part of the Sykes plan, and would give Britain a...
  8. MoF 9: Alternate partition of the Ottoman Empire

Britain, France and Russia take up Djemal Pasha's offer to overthrow the rest of the Young Turks in 1916 due to Britain being able to placate France from her demand of southern Cilicia in return for control over Irak (this was part of the Sykes plan, and would give Britain a buffer zone from...

I think you mean west of the Urals, and before the Second World War the Soviets moved most of their industry east in fear of invasion. So the industrial output of the USSR wouldn't be too heavily damaged.
  10. A Pale Horse: The Plague of 1512 (Revision)

Just read the whole timeline, great job! Eagerly looking forward to more. I like how you're constructing this world bit by bit-- it makes for a more detailed one, and the posts are the perfect reading size. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the great maps! All in all, an amazing tl.

Thanks for the feedback Thande! I was thinking of putting on basic land colours (gold for savannah, yellow for desert, etc) and possibly a few landmarks or geographical features (rivers 'n such). But, due dates sneak up quietly . And about Marx, well, er, now that I think about it no...

For a resume project on 100 years of solitude, I decided to make a map (because being a map thread lurker I couldn't resist). It was on Melquiades' life, and I tried to make it mystical enough that it seems he lives forever, and one can never be sure of the dates. Feedback? PS sorry for the BAM.

B_Munro, as a mostly-lurker-sometimes-map-maker, I look at (or glance at, if the pages are mapless) most if not all of the map thread, and I have to say I really like your maps and situations. You use simple methods, and yet I look at your maps longer than a lot of the maps that are more works...

Great maps Nugax, quite an interesting scenario. Personally I prefer the first map. One thing struck me off guard though-- Mordor?

Very interesting map series Hapsburg, I've been following it intently. I just have one quibble: if there's no Islam, why would the debate of iconoclasm even exist? I was under the impression that it arose due to the Byzantine leaders' belief that the Arabs were so successful in their conquests...

While the focus of my map reeeally wasn't on Ceylon (its not even entirely included in the map, or mentioned at all in the description), it should be British. I was just under the naive assumption that the island was Dutch from colonisation to independence.

    Oh and thanks OAM!

With a better, more readable font. The POD and situation is a page or two back if you're interested.
  19. Map Thread V

Thanks for the feedback. I agree with you on the font.

The main POD is that Mohammed Ali is allowed to capture and occupy Constantinople during his conquest of the Ottoman Empire in 1833, as the British did not mediate the conflict. The Sultan of the Ottoman Empire wished for British help against the conqueror, but when none came he begrudgingly...
