  1. WI - USA doesn't join War In Europe until 1943-1944?

From what i've read, it was the Army that lost interest. The Navy's "F-Go" project continued That was only one sub, others arrived and they used that material They had two programs. One was stopped, the other continued; using centrifuges for the enrichment process. The centrifuges were far...
  2. WI - USA doesn't join War In Europe until 1943-1944?

Yes they do, but being a "good point" which is based nearly entirely on assumptions about successes which may or may occur, and claiming magical properties of perfect radar detection, perfect plans that always work and never get changed with the circumstances are entirely lacking in credibility...
  3. WI - USA doesn't join War In Europe until 1943-1944?

You should really try harder to show more respect for the intelligence of other people. I know some things, you know some things. We bring them both to the table, and please refrain from the insults. They're not needed, and they add nothing. Since there aren't any and the evidence is not all on...
  4. WI - USA doesn't join War In Europe until 1943-1944?

Correction of your errors in assumptions time and do try to be polite in replies, you are no smarter than I am, don't carry on with some attitude of superiority as if you always get it right. Yes, it's likely but not necessarily 100% certain that all those islands will have full reliable...
  5. WI - USA doesn't join War In Europe until 1943-1944?

Did I say that? Where? Please don't to put words into my mouth, or claim that I'm saying something that I'm not. It is? Most everyone else understood the porevious posts. Yes, according to OTL. That's significant because it will vary from OTL after 1941 if there is no attack planned for...
  6. WI - USA doesn't join War In Europe until 1943-1944?

That's quite debatable, and the beginning of a collapse is not the same thing as a collapse having occurred. It could drag on for years. It's a whole couuntry, and there are many ways to keep going just that little bit further. Japan has coal reserves, and was already mining coal. They can...
  7. WI - USA doesn't join War In Europe until 1943-1944?

You're going offtopic, and it appears that you're trying to engage in ad hominem as well. Try to keep some balance. Historians are still debating the subject as there is plentiful evidence to support the possibility that Roosevelt wanted a war, and provoking the Japanese was seriously...
  8. WI - USA doesn't join War In Europe until 1943-1944?

    1) Why would they need to go through the USA to reach the DEI? The USA isn't in the Far East, it's not even in the way there. They have no bases which the Japanese would need to attack, and if the Japanese decide to simply avoid confrontation, the USA has no legitmate reason to start a war. 2)...
  9. WI - no US Federal Reserve until WW2

By the way everyone here is dodging the original question, it appears that NOBODY is sure exactly what it does.
  10. WI - no US Federal Reserve until WW2

As I posted on the original thread where the subject came up, it seemed likely to me that the Federal Reserve would just be delayed and was going to be created regardless. It just struck me with curiosity about whether the Federal Reserve being loooong delayed until WW2 would affect the USA war...
  11. Alternative names for 20th Century Wars?

    That's pretty good.:)
  12. WI - an ATL Operation Torch success or failure? What degree?

Following discussion on this thread; https://www.alternatehistory.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=159343 about what would happen if the USA doesn't join the War In Europe until 1943 (no US troops encountering German troops until late 1944) Operation Torch could go either way apparently in this...
  13. WI - USA doesn't join War In Europe until 1943-1944?

Looks like a flip in the end in the finishing time for the end of WW2 with the Pacific War finishing before the War in Europe by this timeline.
  14. WI - USA doesn't join War In Europe until 1943-1944?

That would give them more time than I anticipated. Forgot that one, yet was only just reading a thread on the subject a few days ago. Yes, good point. The army doesn't need anywhere near as much oil as the navy would. All good points. I was thinking that in some ways, it actually makes it...
  15. WI - USA doesn't join War In Europe until 1943-1944?

Perhaps, perhaps not. Preparation isn't just by the USA. The Japanese would have more to bring to the party too. Makes it more interesting doesn't it? The Japanese planes would've been improved too. Fixed some of the bugs, given the pilots more training. Perhaps have a couple more freighters...
  16. WI - USA doesn't join War In Europe until 1943-1944?

That's apparently quite debatable. I've been looking it on other threads. If they did find some other oil source, it would take 6 months to 2 years to develop it. They are not going to completely run out of oil because they can ration fuel if they know another source is going to be available...
  17. WI - USA doesn't join War In Europe until 1943-1944?

Japan strikes in 1943, 5th December. That's 2 years later than OTL and still on the same day of the week. The Japanese could be assumed to be too involved with their territory grabbing in China, developing what resources that they find, and then just sitting on the gains until they can fully...
  18. WI - USA doesn't join War In Europe until 1943-1944?

The USA already had a honking big fleet in the Atlantic, so? If they aren't attacking German vessels, there's even less reason to start a fight that his navy would lose, isn't there? Japan knows there's a fleet in the Atlantic, far away from Japan, and they're not in the Pacific threatening...
  19. WI - An ATL 1960's counterculture in an USA which lost WW2

You've given a lot of fascinating ideas to work with there. I'm going to get back to this later and edit this post with a decent reply. It really fills out the background, but of course each part will have to be checked separately.
  20. WI - USA doesn't join War In Europe until 1943-1944?

Probably still end up with a losing Germany being overwhelmed by the Russians. I suspect that with the USA arriving that late on the scene, that the USSR may get all of Germany. No West Germany and East Germany, just one big GDR. And of course, everyone tells even worse jokes about Americans...
