The communist party was pretty close to winning in 1996. What would happen if they managed to form a government? Would Russia make a re-Stalinization, or would they become a democratic communist state?

So no UAR (United Arab Republic) as long as Israel exist? Makes sense. Just like in 1871, only a common enemy will make people stand together. What modern states will the UAR have? Will it include Somalia? Will it have non-Arab Muslim countries like Iran and Turkey?

What if, during the 20th century, some Arab leader (Gamal Nasser?) managed to unite most of the Arab nations under his rule, in a federative republic (or a dictatorship)? What will happen to Israel? Will it be a second yugoslavia, and be finally torn apart by civil war?
