  1. A Destiny Realized: A Timeline of Afsharid Iran and Beyond

Is it possible for Georgia to sustain a three-way play-off of Persian/Russian/Ottoman interests to preserve their independence, or are they doomed to fall firmly under the sway of one of them?
  2. Green Revolution on the Golden Gate

You missed the McCloskey-Pembo race there, but otherwise glad to see this back.
  3. King Theodore's Corsica

    Good stuff. Map?
  4. A Destiny Realized: A Timeline of Afsharid Iran and Beyond

Lost track of the version of this. Glad to see it back.
  5. AHC: Britain be a player in the Space Race

Keeping Malta in the UK is a fairly simple matter, but finding room *on* Malta to fit a spaceport is a bit trickier. As for a UK space program itself, funding for both Blue Streak and Black Arrow got canned in 1972, so if the government of the day can be cajoled into continuing funding for...
  6. King Theodore's Corsica

It's a case of "if he wins too much the French will feel forced to ramp up" - he can barely cope with the current forces and hence doesn't want more French forces.
  7. King Theodore's Corsica

From a narrative perspective, Theodore's gotta win here. From a plausibility perspective, it's a bit less likely.
  8. AHC: Habsburg Kingdom of Italy

That sounds a lot like trying to reinstate the Holy Roman Empire.
  9. WI: Bigger Labour Victory in 1966 Election

A small swing would give Labour an absolute majority of the vote as well, which would be proper mental.
  10. Vignette: The Mayor

    Nice.
  11. Alternate Electoral Maps II

It's certainly an overstatement of the Kid Rock Effect.
  12. AHC/WI: Longer-Lasting Brutalism in the UK

The heyday of Brutalism architecture in the UK was from the late 50s to around 1980, and was often in tandem with urban renewal schemes that demolished older structures (if they hadn't been demolished by the Luftwaffe) and brought motorways into city centers. I exaggerate somewhat, but that's a...
  13. AHC: Have conservative parties destroyed at least in one European great power

You'd need to get rid of their voters. That's not quite so easy.
  14. WI: UKIP won either of the Eastleigh/Heywood by-elections?

That seems quite unlikely, especially Dancuck; we'd need to go through the list of MPs who voted Leave with a fine toothcomb.
  15. WI: UKIP won either of the Eastleigh/Heywood by-elections?

Wasn't yet an MP. Corby was a Labour gain in the 2012 by-election and didn't revert until 2015.
  16. WI: UKIP won either of the Eastleigh/Heywood by-elections?

Admittedly, virtually all of those years were Could've Been Toppled years according to Senior Labour Sources (TM), but I see your point. But wrt the OP, it won't just be Reckless crossing the aisle that's for certain. I wonder who else in the Commons was considering the move but chickened out.
  17. AH Vignette: Remain Means Remain

Khaine, you're sounding almost exactly like I did back in late 2015 when I first realised that I'd need to have an opinion on Europe; this was back in the heady days of me being interested in campaigning, and I ended up campaigning (mildly) for Leave. Meadow, that was a good read.
  18. AH Vignette: Chienlit

Bordeaux to Berlin. Sounds like Monty got his beeline.
  19. Alternate Wikipedia Infoboxes IV (Do not post Current Politics Here)

So no joining the ERM then? Or it works properly? I do wonder how Maastricht gets handled though.
