  1. WI: Presidential Election 2004: Ron Paul( R) Vs. Al Sharpton (D)

The winner would be a write-in candidate or the most recognizable sane politician, because nobody except for a handful of nutjobs wants Ron Paul or Al Sharpton to be President.
  2. WI/Poll: China Invades Taiwan

Also, isn't "stalemate" the same thing as "USA wins", since we would be fighting to preserve the status quo?
  3. WI/Poll: China Invades Taiwan

It's not economic suicide, it's economic mutually assured destruction. China would wreck its own economy at the same time, because any embargo would naturally mean that the US would stop buying Chinese goods and all American investment into China would immediately cease.
  4. AHC: Reduce Corruption in Europe

It's literally called the "Corruption Perceptions Index". It seems fine in general terms (for example, you don't need an index to tell you that Russia and Venezuela are both staggeringly corrupt), but it makes smaller distinctions almost entirely subjective (why and how is the US less corrupt...
  5. AHC: The U.S. Focuses On The Soviets As a the Enemy And Not The Communists

If I'm understanding this correctly, the US would still be fighting communism pretty much everywhere except for Central and South America. The Soviets were the driving force behind the spread of global communism, that was kind of their gameplan. I doubt that this improves attitudes towards...
  6. Would America Have Resisted Nazi Occupation?

Hitler: "Manstein, I've designed a new plane that will take us across the Atlantic and allow us to attack the decadent Americans in just a couple of hours!" Manstein: "Amazing, when do we start production-" Hitler: "I've already built it. We attack New York tonight!" (Holds up a model plane)...
  7. SW Prequel Trilogy Reboot?

Jaime Lannister would be fantastic as Anakin Skywalker.
  8. Would America Have Resisted Nazi Occupation?

This is a little bit like asking if America would resist Asgardian occupation. There's really no way to know, because the premise is so ridiculous that you can make up whatever scenario you want.
  9. A Transatlantic Invasion

Oh, come on. Heisenberg, Mr. "There literally isn't enough uranium in the world to build a nuke, how do I science" is going to improve the V-2 program enough to hit the East Coast of the US and develop a working nuclear weapon before the US does, despite the fact he never got anywhere close to...
  10. AHC: US/Russia Special Relationship

Wait, I thought you liked superstates. Didn't you write that one TL where the USA merged with the British Empire again?
  11. AHC: US/Russia Special Relationship

I'm not really sure how. The US-CANZUK special relationship works because our countries are so similar culturally and religiously, so it's easy for people in each country to see each other as friends and allies. With Russia, you've got nearly 46 years of hostility and very few cultural similarities.
  12. U.S. declares war on Japan would britian honor their alliance

It depends on the circumstances, but I think it's far more likely that Britain would offer to mediate a pre-WWI conflict between the US and Japan.
  13. WI: Pre-Emptive Strike | USA vs North Korea

The US market is good, but the Chinese market is better. China is South Korea's biggest trade partner, it's in their economic interest to keep good relations with China. And being a client of the Chinese wasn't going too badly until the Japanese came along. Speaking of which, which country is...
  14. WI: Pre-Emptive Strike | USA vs North Korea

I don't think you understand. The millions of dead Koreans are in a scenario WITHOUT nukes.
  15. WI: Pre-Emptive Strike | USA vs North Korea

Yeah, I recognized my mistake right after making the post. But a US-Liechtenstein Cold War sounds kind of fun.
  16. AHC: The Alliance for Progress works (prosperous cold war Latin America)

Since those CIA overthrows were in the 50s, the 70s, and the 80s, they don't really apply to a program that was born in the 60s and died in the 60s. The whole point of the Alliance for Progress would have been to eliminate the need for those kind of overthrows 10-20 years later. Kennedy wanted...
  17. WI: Pre-Emptive Strike | USA vs North Korea

Millions of dead Koreans, thousands of dead Americans. Potential nuclear strikes on South Korean and/or Japanese cities from North Korea. The total breakdown of US-China relations, sending 40 years of careful diplomacy down the toilet and limiting cooperation and trade agreements between the...
  18. WI: Pre-Emptive Strike | USA vs North Korea

It would obviously be successful, but it would never happen because the Chinese wouldn't like it.
  19. AHC: The Alliance for Progress works (prosperous cold war Latin America)

With a PoD anytime after August of 1961, make JFK's Alliance for Progress meet its goals in at least half of the countries in Latin America: 1. an annual increase of 2.5% in per capita income 2. the establishment of democratic governments 3. the elimination of adult illiteracy by 1970 4. price...
