  1. Confederate Industrialization and Imperialism

Ooo I got an example where some soldiers might have fought for "abolition" that means that abolition was a major pillar of Union thought for Union soldiers during the war! Oh wait, no. It doesn't. Oh please. No he doesn't. His point is very simple. The objection to a specific claim, that the...
  2. Confederate Industrialization and Imperialism

Yes, I believe you, with your myriad of sources back when you were arguing this point with Jared in the thread I linked. Oh wait, I'm lying. I don't believe you, due to your non-existent sources back when you were arguing this point with Jared in the thread I linked. There is no way that I can...
  3. Confederate Industrialization and Imperialism

Don't buy into this "the Confederacy will never industrialise!" idea. It was already "industrialised" and it's now a matter of how fast it's going to go, which is probably "slower than the USA, faster that Spain," as the two extremes.
  4. Hanging as default execution method

Hanging was deemed problematic also because sometimes the hanging resulted in decapitation, and people don't want to see that, just like with Guillotines.
  5. Could 'Aristotle and the gun' have ended better?

No. There are a few instances of really weird conclusions, but even those (that I know of) could be explained if Aristotle just didn't know about sample size. Which he wouldn't have. The main character would have done better to pose as a philosopher from somewhere else and merely introduced...
  6. Confederate Industrialization and Imperialism

No. I would consider it, from what I've seen, to probably be somewhere along the lines of a slightly better Canada in terms of power.
  7. Confederate Industrialization and Imperialism

There was a thread on Confederate Industrialisation not too long ago that had a lot of interesting things to say from Jared. I recommend reading the thread here. Except because your Confederacy has a lot more territory, presumably it'd be slightly different/better going than Jared's scenario.
  8. Victoria II

So I'm about finished with my first game ever where I was able to sphere Austria and include it in Germany, as Prussia. It's 1900 and I have a good chunk of Africa and some modest South-East Asian colonies. I also got a piece of Belgium early in the game, and I successfully fought Britain for...
  9. Where to exils the rebels?

Are we serious guys? The answer is no. Just no. There's no place for them to go. Nobody would want them. The US wouldn't try to do this in the first place. If they tried, it would be chaos not only because they're exiling rebels to the nether, as no country would accept thousands of poor...
  10. My Steampunk Confederate Victory TL

Ah yes, while that is a good reason it wasn't mentioned in the line about Texas Seceding, so I didn't connect that to being the reason. If this is all, any other state is just as likely to secede. That is, probably not very likely. And those people who waved the 1917 Russian Republic Flag were...
  11. My Steampunk Confederate Victory TL

Two questions. Why does Texas Secede? I'm all for an independent Texas but there wasn't even the slightest explanation why. Tennessee. It's been at least 40 years of Confederate rule, and you're telling me that pro-Union sentiment is so strong at this point that the state would want to go back...
  12. Requirements of Admission to the Prussian Military Academy

This is a rather specific question and I don't know if this is the right place for it. Anyway, if somebody in the early 20th century wanted to enlist in the Academy, what would they have to do and who is ineligible? What about foreigners? What age do you have to be? Can anybody help me out?
  13. The Stars at Night: A Texas Timeline

Yes. Although in my Senior Year of Highschool it switched back to normal scheduling. Which was really terrible, I wasn't able to complete German IV because of this.
  14. The Stars at Night: A Texas Timeline

Does this idea exist outside of Texas? My junior high was divided by Stars/Constellations. I was Alpha Centauri.
  15. AHC & WI: Confederate John Ericsson

In other words, yes it could. It just wouldn't be exactly the same and would either require a different allocation of resources, or a CSA which can get more resources. Possibly both. I think the bigger deal here is not that the South gets Ericsson, but that the North doesn't. And even bigger...
  16. WI: Suge Knight murdered Vanilla Ice?

It's my understanding that Knight's confrontation with Van Winkle in the op happened after Young had already left Ruthless. I'm arguing that it's possible that he could find the money elsewhere. Where exactly, I'm not sure, but there are ways both legitimate and illegal to get loans for these...
  17. WI: Suge Knight murdered Vanilla Ice?

These people will be around, the question is, how big will they get without Death Row? Honestly, probably just as big as they got anyway. Tupac had been signed with Interscope for the beginning of his career, and Andre Young was the co-founder of Death Row, and was probably the real impetus...
  18. No Classic Mesoamerican Collapse

What difficult questions would these be?
