  1. Base Maps from 550 BC to Modern Day, all in UCS!

Awesome!! Great work SRegan Most likely, the only map I could find to make them didn't have much detail.
  2. Base Maps from 550 BC to Modern Day, all in UCS!

Here's an example of one that works really well. http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/mgg/topo/img/af.gif No borders, no rivers, no labels, just straight topography. And yes, you're right - when there's a completely different projection, warping the map to fit makes the image really blurry and not worth...

Here's a topographic patch for Central America. Anyone willing to help out with the rest and or find suitable maps for me to work off of?

It's a word I made up :p Basically, the word Kaiser wouldn't fit in this fictional world because it is a germanized form of Caesar. Therefore I thought up a random figure named Praecar to serve as the first emperor of a Roman Empire equivalent and 'hetzishized' his name.

I can't believe you did that much by hand. If I did that I think I'd be clinically insane by the time I finished. Don't mind at all. Looks great, good job! Here's some more parts done. Haven't started on the Himalayas yet and I'm not too sure about India.
  9. Base Maps from 550 BC to Modern Day, all in UCS!

SRegan included one in his Map Series.psd. I can't promise that my patches abide by this exactly, but they should be pretty close.
  10. Base Maps from 550 BC to Modern Day, all in UCS!

I start by finding a blank physical map of the area. I resize and warp it until it fits over the basemap. When that's done I use posterization (a feature in Photoshop) which gets rid of gradual color change and instead breaks the image down into a few colors. Then it's just selecting those...

    And here's Africa + Arabia.
  12. Base Maps from 550 BC to Modern Day, all in UCS!

Ladies and Gents, here's a topographic map patch for South America. :) With the method I'm using, I should be able to do the rest of the world relatively quickly. I can't say it will be pinpoint accurate though. Some minor editing might have to be done for Chile's ragged southern coastline. If...

  15. Flag Thread III

I was wondering if someone could help me with something relatively simple for a flag I'm making. I need an upward facing arrow, like so: But with curved arms, like in this iron cross: I would really appreciate it. Lastly, here's some flag for a fictional country's marine corps

Thanks guys! I couldn't begin to guess. (:p) I would really like to read it when you start posting it.
  17. Map Thread X

Completed the rest of my pseudo-fantasy world, Titus. No description for now because I'm debating on whether to write down an entire timeline or start a map series with Munro style annotations/descriptions. While I decide, have this completed version of the world (and key) immediately prior...

Weird, wasn't showing up on my monitor. Fixed now.
  19. Map Thread X

Didn't think anyone would get the reference, let alone the first post. :) Not sure what you mean.
