  1. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

    I've got an idea.
  2. Early 20th Century AH(C) Questions

So the Great Game played between an active player and in inactive player? That makes sense to me. Well that much is obvious. However, I can't comprehend much past that much without somebody explaining it to me. Thanks, both, by the way. :)
  3. Early 20th Century AH(C) Questions

These questions are individual. Not corresponding to each-other unless otherwise noted. Some may be considered challenges. The PoD could be as early as 1848, if necessary, though I ask you stay as close to the date of the event in question as possible. Up until the Russian Revolutions, what...
  4. Map Thread IX

(I meant random in terms of the borders on the map I posted, using those borders.) However, consider the politics at the time. Get a PoD where "popular sovereignty" leads to Missouri becoming a free state. Thus as a compromise, the trans-continental railroad would go through southern California...
  5. Map Thread IX

California looks better if you use the yellow and purple counties as the northern limits for Southern California. You should know the ones I'm talking about by this 1853 county map. It's how I divided California in my "Gathering Steam" map. Thought that was random?
  6. AHC: Free Horn of Africa

This is a bit convoluted, but could make for an interesting TL. Italy stays neutral in WWI. It is contracted to make weapons for both sides of the war. Thus technological development shifts; potentially for infrastructure and weaponry, as less money is spent on the war and more is spent on R&D...
  7. American Culture

American culture shifted phenomenally during and following the Great Depression and WWII. I suppose if one can find out what exactly changed and how exactly that change was caused from a sociological perspective, we can look at a way to change obesity rates and education and other such examples...
  8. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

I hope I don't offend anybody when I say this, but I think MotF 60 has generated (right word?) the best batch of maps in a while. It's going to be hard to vote.
  9. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

I throw my support behind this proposal while we work out the kinks with Polis.
  10. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

Well my premise is out there. As a community, you guys can mold it into whatever you may want. I'll try to put in my two cents when appropriate.
  11. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

Well you can show a city state's colonies outside of Earth, just so long as you show the city state on Earth, first. Like this: So imagine that the constituent lands are on other planets.
  12. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

Thanks. I don't really care about the name, though, so change it to whatever you would like. I want to know what regions on Earth others think can sustain city states. ASB could mean having aliens set up these states, or communities based around creatures such as Vampires, Werewolves, Elves...
  13. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

Police Polis Illustrate a region overwhelmingly influenced by one or more city-states. Allowed: Future, ASB Restrictions: Must be set on Earth --- Beedok, maybe you can uninstall and reinstall?
  14. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

The rest was just to give people ideas. Not really restrict them. But I can take the rest out, no problem.
  15. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

Well then, I misunderstood. I liked what I thought the challenge meant; not what you think/know it means. I'll have to keep digging to find out who I support for the next round; if you wouldn't mind be taking back my support for Petting Zoo, that is.
  16. Base Maps from 550 BC to Modern Day, all in UCS! Part II

Personally I agree that we don't need another thread. But I'm saying if we did, that's how it should be set up.
  17. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

    1. Isn't the premise of the challenge ASB? To make a new domesticated animal or make another type of animal go extinct? 2. Okay, I will change my wording next time.
  18. Base Maps from 550 BC to Modern Day, all in UCS! Part II

I think you should change the title. This should be the "Worlda Development Thread". Several reasons: We work on pre-550 BC maps We use only Worlda for the most part The fact that we use UCS should be part of the OP, not the title. A thread strictly for finished Worlda maps in chronological...
  19. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

I can see several methods of depicting such an animal/plant on a map. Examples: Show regions where the animal is domesticated/found. This place would likely be powerful/rich if this animal is good at war. Imagine a dragon-type creature one can ride on as a primitive form of aviation. A type...
  20. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

I don't think the amount entries is a problem; as I think others would enjoy creating a region or world divided by city-states or corporate-states. Also, showing a significantly influential region in a state of anarchy could be a challenge in its own right. On the other hand, you mentioned that...
