  2. What other Presidents could later go to Congress?

After he was President, John Quincy Adams served time in the U.S. House Of Representatives. Can you think of scenarios where Presidents who were elected (post-1900) would go serve time in Congress after a Presidential administration (U.S. Senate or House is acceptable for this scenario)?
  3. George H.W. Bush wins re-election

If President George H.W. Bush won re-election over Bill Clinton in 1992, would either of his sons (Jeb or GWB) still try for President and when might we see one of them in office?

  5. Robert E. Lee stays home

A recent PBS documentary I saw on Robert E. Lee said that he considered staying home during the Civil War. However, General Scott told him he didn't want soldiers with divided loyalties in the U.S. Army...so Lee then went to the South. How would the war have gone with General Robert E. Lee...
  6. TL-191: Should the US have taken more from the CSA after GW1

In TL-191, should the US have taken more than what they did from the CSA (Kentucky, Seqoyah, north Virginia, northwest Texas, chunks of Sonora/Arkansas) after the CSA's defeat in the First Great War?

  8. TL-191: CSA President Willy Knight

What if Knight's assassination attempt on Jake Featherston had succeeded? With Knight as President of the CSA, would the CSA have done better against the USA in the Second Great War?
  9. 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg

    Just thought I'd share that.

  11. TL-191 US wins the Second Mexican War

How could the US have won the Second Mexican War against the CSA in TL-191? It doesn't have to be a super-massive victory but the USA does have to be considered the victor. And what would the political aftermath have been; how would relations with the CSA have gone in the long-term...
  12. President Seward

I heard Lincoln's Secretary Of State, William Seward, had also tried to get the Republican nomination in 1860. How would the Civil War have gone if William Seward had become President of the United States?
  13. Could the U.S. have taken more in the Mexican-American War?

I don't think the U.S. could have taken all of Mexico in the Mexican-American War. However, is it possible the U.S. could have taken more than it did OTL (Baja California, Sonora, and Chihuahua)? What would have needed to change (militarily or politically) for that to happen?
  14. Could the Union have won the first Battle of Bull Run in 1861?

Is there any way the North/Union could have won First Bull Run near the beginning of the U.S. Civil War in 1861? If so, how much could it have shortened the U.S. Civil War by? OT: I accidentally first posted this in the "After 1900" forum. This is where I meant to place it.
  15. Could the Union win First Bull Run?

EDIT: Wrong forum. I'm trying to delete this. I don't see a delete option though.
  16. "1862" vs. "Stars & Stripes trilogy"

"1862" by Robert Conroy "Stars & Stripes" trilogy by Harry Harrison Which of these did you think was better/worse?
  17. TL-191: How could the U.S. have done better in the Second Mexican War

Is there any way the TL-191 USA could have done better in the Second Mexican War? What would they have need to have done? As kind of a secondary question: how would TL-191 have proceeded differently if the US had won the Second Mexican War?
  18. General George Meade with a better reputation

Union General George Meade was in charge of the Union army during the Battle of Gettysburg which arguably turned the tide of U.S. Civil War. Yet most people remember Grant, Sherman, and even McClellan before Meade. What could Meade have done so that history remembers him better?
  19. How would the Korean War go if Dewey won?

If Tom Dewey had been elected U.S. President in 1948, would there have been a Korean War still? If the Korean war began on schedule (as in OTL), would it have ended any differently if Dewey was President?
  20. A second John Adams term

How would things have turned out differently if John Adams had won re-election in 1800 instead of Thomas Jefferson winning?
