  1. Napoleon doesn't turn on Spain and Russia

Fair enough. My point is Napoleon could have easily avoided invading Spain, whereas conflict with Russia was more difficult.
  2. Napoleon doesn't turn on Spain and Russia

I recognize that in my post, but he did not have to turn his attention to Spain.
  3. Napoleon doesn't turn on Spain and Russia

I didn't mean to sound sarcastic, those are two points that will be visited in my tl. That's besides the point though. My apologies. I think avoiding the invasions are both plausible- Spain could have been handled immensely better (but that's a different topic). There was not a pressing need...
  4. Napoleon doesn't turn on Spain and Russia

    What an interesting idea...
  5. The Last Eagle: Redux

DIRECTOR SIEYES To be called an “Architect of the Revolution” was flattering, but if Abbe Sieyes wanted to cement his great legacy, he would apparently now have to preserve the Revolution. All around him he could see the rot of decadency permeating the upper echelons of the new bureaucracy of...
  6. How To Preserve The Roman Republic

The whole 'appointed temporary dictators' thing has the potential to fail quickly. Cincinnatus aside.
  7. The Last Eagle: Redux

Good point, ya'll are right. I'll start throwing in at the end of each Part a quick summary of changes, until it becomes too far from OTL to even warrant doing it.
  8. The Last Eagle: Redux

Thank you sir. That's my bad, I am trying to keep a balance between subtly and bashing you over the head with butterflies. The difference with the Egyptian Campaign so far is that a more concerned Napoleon sent Desaix more troops to hunt down the Bey- resulting in an earlier defeat and freeing...
  9. The Last Eagle: Redux

GENERAL BONAPARTE General Bonaparte viewed the sandy arena that was shaping up to be the setting of one of his greatest tests. “In the land of Pharaohs, blood would be spilled once more.” He remarked to himself. The Ottomans were arrayed against him along a ridge line, anchored on their right...
  10. The Last Eagle: Redux

MINISTER GODOY As the music picked up its pace, Manuel de Godoy scanned the crowd for his next target. There was enough make-up and perfume in the small space to open a shop, but he skipped over the painted elderly and too engorged. When he found the pale, auburn-haired woman he knew he had...
  11. Help on my TL, Please read

    What's it about, bruh?
  12. Best Napoleonic French General?

Good question, not many (myself included) are familiar with the generals underneath. From basic research I think General Girard was capable. Maybe not the best, but perhaps he was limited by history as to what he could have proven.
  13. Best General from 1730 to 1960

You would count Burgos as a victory for Wellington? Unrelated to Wellington, I personally would not read in too heavily into a General's win lose ratio without considering the entire career and circumstances.
  14. Best General from 1730 to 1960

Napoleon fo sho, before we get bogged down in the relativism of the word 'best' and all of its' glory.
  15. The Last Eagle: Redux

GENERAL DESAIX The Orient was the land of gloire according to General Bonaparte. Europe was spent, but their was great opportunity in the East. All Louis Desaix saw was sand. Sand, sand, and more sand. He was constantly reviewing his troops and their fortifications, going through supply...
  16. What if France won the Franco-Prussian War?

I personally hope such a victory could buoy the Bonaparte Regime. I'm not sure though that it mandates a return to the more authoritarian days of the early Second Empire.
  17. Charles X restored Bourbon King of France in 1815

It was my understanding that Ferdinand and his wife were not happy allies with the British. I think it would be very possible for Britain not to press their claims in the right moment.
  18. How to Save Your Skin in a Nazi Victory

Blond hair blue eyes, quarter German. But I'd still get executed for criticizing the regime. Which is easy to say given I'm not in the situation. I hope I would still be a romantic freedom idealist in such a scenario.
  19. Ground Zero really a GZ

This seems like a somewhat apocalyptic scenario. Few would be safe if the US went on a rampage.
