  1. Henry A. Wallace - 33rd US President?

Wouldnt have voted for him in any election. He was essentially a Progressive snob. (just him specifically)
  2. Henry A. Wallace - 33rd US President?

Wallace was essentially a communist sympathizer. Once you knew more about him, you were less likely to vote for him. He would have made a horrific president.
  3. WI: Taft Dies from a Heart Attack in Second-to-Last Week of October 1912?

Again, Roosevelt ran left of Wilson. Most GOPers would have voted for Wilson if they voted for Taft.
  4. Goldwater Beats LBJ

He should have taken the hint from Ikes final speech.
  5. Would JFK Be Still Be Alive Today?

With all his diseases? Heck, it'd be a marvel if he got to 70.
  6. Reagan Assasinated in '66

The Cold War was ended by a succession of strong, anti Soviet presidents. Reagan's role is overstated tremendously. Don't kid yourselves, fellow liberal folk. The Conservative Revolution would have happened with or without him, the only question is how lasting it'd have been.
  7. Reagan Assasinated in '66

If it wasn't Reagan it would have been another conservative. The stage was set. The change wouldn't have been THAT different. All the political systems in America have come to an end, and so would the New Deal, inevitably to a rightward movement.
  8. AHC: PLO as a US proxy:

It's quite possible American Jews and Israel will have a similar relationship like OTL Cuban Americans and Cuba.

I remember that. Didn't they want to go around the nation, on the same plane, and essentially campaign with each other, together?
  11. American Political Shockwave

Yeah, it's important to remember most of the new members are Blue Dogs. This is a conservative caucus in comparison to previous years.
  12. AHC: PLO as a US proxy:

Hmm, a southerner or a possible anti-Semite is on the ticket with Roosevelt in 1944, and Israel is the guilt creation of western European nations. Betrayed by the Americans (apparent to the Israelis), they embrace a seeming altruistic Soviet union.
  13. Al Gore Sr. signs Southern Manifesto

And since you seem to be knowledgeable on this topic, what would Gore do in response to those attacks? That HW also campaigned against the CRA.
  14. Monday beats Reagan

Rosty did a pretty good job of proper tax reform OTL. You're going to have a much smarter Democratic Party that targets its fiscal liberal base. Mondale attacks Reagan over unemployment and the impact the recession had on the people. Different VP selection. Still a pretty tough fit.
  15. WI: Taft Dies from a Heart Attack in Second-to-Last Week of October 1912?

Remember Roosevelt ran to the left of Wilson. HE wouldn't have won mch of the standing GOP vote.
  16. Al Gore Sr. signs Southern Manifesto

Should have mentioned in my previous post that I didn't know Bush campaigned in 1964 against the CRA. Most of my assumption was simply based on the fact that Bush went against his conservative district to take a more progressive position. As for the actual opponents, I was referencing what...
  17. Very Minor PODs

Lou Gehrigs mom doesn't allow him to go play in the Wrigley Field game that really made him well known among baseball scouts.
  18. WI: 1960 without LBJ?

There's no way RFK could win California after the hippie backlash.
  19. Goldwater Beats LBJ

JFK liked Barry Goldwaters chances of winning the nomination, because he thought he was easy to beat. Goldwater and Kennedy were shown together a lot because Kennedy liked the idea of running against someone so beatable.
  20. DBWI: Bush elected in 2000

Bush being the Hawk he was would have captured Bin Laden far earlier than 2006.
