  1. How could the collapse of the Soviet Union have been prevented

Keep commodity prices high. When commodity prices collapsed in the 1980s following the boom in the 1970s, it did all kinds of damage to the Soviet economy, which was heavily-dependent on commodities like oil and gold (as Russia still is today). I don't think that, in and of itself, would have...
  2. Germany takes London

Sea Lion would be hard-pressed to happen at any point during the war, much less in mid-1944. Not a chance at that point (not that there ever really was much of one in the first place).
  3. Earliest possible A380 type plane?

Well, the heaviest aircraft on Earth to this day is the Antonov An-225 and it first flew in 1988. Technology isn't so much the problem as is will.
  4. AHC/WI: Barack Obama IS Born in Kenya

Ah, okay, thanks for the correction. I did not know that. :)
  5. AHC/WI: Barack Obama IS Born in Kenya

I'm not so sure, though. Ann Dunham was an American citizen at the time of Obama's birth, so even if he were born outside the United States, Obama would be a citizen from birth and, thus, would not have to be naturalized. As such, he would be eligible to become president all the same...
  6. Very Minor PODs

Those are good, too. :) Well, it was a minor POD that would seemingly not mean anything, except that, as you said, the event sparked WWI. WWI was probably eventually going to start up, regardless, but it could have been completely different. A minor POD ends up causing huge differences.
  7. AHC: PLO as a US proxy:

Yeah, I don't think a Soviet-aligned Israel is really much of a stretch at all.
  8. Very Minor PODs

Gavrilo Princip is hit by a bus and sustains fatal injuries in the early morning of June 28th, 1914.
  9. A Great Power in Africa

South Africa is pretty much the only nation with much of a chance with a post-1900 POD, IMO, and its chances are slim. EDIT: If you are talking about a Great Power on the world stage, at least. There are many more candidates for regional powers, of course.
  10. AHC: North Korea replaces Iraq

LOLWUT???? Conspiracy theory much? As to the OP, I don't see much way of it happening short of North Korea going full on insane and invading South Korea. Iraq features very favorable terrain for the modern US military to thrive in and we saw this as the Iraqi government was toppled with great...
  11. AHC: Make the Great Depression Worse

Hoover was very interventionalist, yet somehow a lot of people think he was some laissez-faire fellow. Now, if you want to see a more laissez-faire solution to a depression (granted, not as deep as the Great Depression), look at Harding's policies that guided us out of the Depression...
  12. WI - A NATO Arm forces

How would they deal with the language barrier?
  13. AHC: No "Red States", "Blue States"

Not exactly. The 2000-2002 recession was about to happen and GDP growth was falling off in 2000.
  14. Preemptive war

We are the masters of preemptive war.
  15. More Overused POD

+1. I don't know why people get so freaked out about this stuff. If you don't want to read a timeline with such a POD, then don't read it. Some of us might like to read such a timeline.
  16. AHC: Keep the State of Franklin Alive Until the Present Day

It can either stay as an independent nation or become a state in the United States.
  17. Democrats and Republicans: Blue and Red, or Red and Blue?

I don't see any reason to stray from the recent convention of using red for the GOP and blue from the Democrats.
  18. WI:Pizza is invented in Germany not in Italy

It could be argued that pizza was invented in Greece.
  19. NATO vs Warsaw Pact conventional war in 1985: Who has the edge?

At that point, NATO would probably win. In the 1960s and 1970s, the Warsaw Pact has a good chance, though the NATO defense buildup of the 1980s pretty much sealed that shut.
  20. Law; no or alternate Interpol?

How about ASTROPOL from 2061: Odyssey Three? :D
