  1. Sports What Ifs.

What if Ayrton Senna doesn't die in 1994?
  2. MacArthur: anything good to say about him?

Yeah, it's easy to criticize someone with the benefit of hindsight. The man had an ego the size of Mount Everest, but he was what he was. All the hate for him is uncalled for. Frankly, nuclear weapons were just bigger bombs, when you get down to it. His stance was hardly unusual. How is...
  3. Ostfront 1944: Could the Germans still turn the table?

I guess you could have Stalin assassinated and some sort of civil war break out in the Soviet Union. This may cause chaos along the Soviet lines and could butterfly away the great Soviet offenses of the summer of 1944.
  4. WI: WW2 over by 1944

The 20 July 1944 plot succeeds. Chaos ensues. Or perhaps the plot in February 1944 in which a German Captain agreed to blow himself up (and take the Fuehrer down with him) while modeling new coats for the army. And, then of course, there is the plot in 1943 in which Hitler's plane was...
  5. Ostfront 1944: Could the Germans still turn the table?

I don't think there is really any way for Germany to win the war at this point. Really, either Stalingrad or Kursk (1943) was probably the point of no return for the Reich. Some might argue that Germany's inability to win Barbarossa in 1941 was the turning point and some might argue that...
  6. If the USSR falls can the Western Allies win??

If the USSR falls, I still don't think Germany can truly win. It would be very difficult, if not impossible, for them to pull off Sea Lion even if they knocked the Soviet Union out of the war in 1941. However, I do think there is a very real chance of a negotiated peace in such a scenario. If...
  7. Deo Vindice: A Very Southern Scandal

    This looks interesting.
  8. Days of Thunder: The Alternate NASCAR Thread

Is Earnhardt's survival the POD, I would assume? Just let Jeff Gordon win a multitude of championships and I will be happy. :) EDIT: Ah, Kulwicki lives on, as well. And Junior Johnson's team carries on to the present day.
  9. German underground invasion of Britain

I'm not usually an ASB-Nazi at all ... but this is ASB!
  10. AHC: Ruin Reagans Legacy

In what world do you live in? Outside of leftist blogs and leftist academics, I've never heard that said.
  11. AHC: Have the United Kingdom Win the Cod Wars

I find it quite odd that the UK managed to lose this "war" in the first place, but I don't know a lot of about it. So, make it happen! Let the Royal Navy crush the Icelandic patrol vessels! :D Bonus points are awarded for actual casualties and sunk boats.
  12. AHC: African-American "Betrayal of the Cossacks"

Weren't the Japanese pretty damn racist at the time, anyways (perhaps even worse)?
  13. Wikibox of the Week #1: A Very Different November..... Entries Thread

Billy Mays was a Republican, though, so I highly doubt he would run as a Socialist. ;)
  14. What if the Germans in 1942 only seized Stalingrad in 1942 and did not go south.

Yes, I love how everyone is so sure of it, too. I agree that the prospects of Germany winning Barbarossa after 1941 are grim, but it's definitely possible. It's certainly not ASB in any shape or form. I think one could develop plausible scenarios in which Germany at least is able to sue for...
  15. AHC:less then 50 UN members by the start of 2010

That is excellent, pieman! :) That would make for an excellent timeline, as well.
  16. How could the collapse of the Soviet Union have been prevented

It is, indeed, a Soviet-wank, but it is quite plausible and would make a good timeline, IMO.
  17. Sealion- the landing possibility

Why do people always have to be such assholes on here about Sealion? This is an alternate history forum, after all, and it was an actual plan drawn up, even if it was unrealistic. Geez. We could be turning away a quality poster in Andy just because of this type of attitude.
  18. How could the collapse of the Soviet Union have been prevented

This is true. That's the problem with keeping prices artificially low for decades, though. The second the true price is realized, prices skyrocket into the stratosphere.
  19. An American VAT

You are correct, though in either case it isn't good for the consumer. Corporations usually don't actually pay taxes in actuality; they just pass on the taxes to the consumer in the form of raised prices.
