The official name of South Africa in Afrikaans is Republiek van Suid-Afrika. So, you don't really need that POD.

Transvaal for the whole of South Africa makes no sense. Natalia could work if that becomes accepted as the name for the whole southern tip, rather than just the south-east coast.
