  1. 'A Throne of Bayonets' (Russia, 18th August 1991 TL)

And it´s back. Chilling update though.
  2. How Developed Could Iraq Have Been?

Would like to add no sanctions during the 90s and no western invasion. The last 30 years have been absolutely terrible for Iraq.
  3. TLIAD: From the Darkest Moment

    Oh god, she's back.
  4. TLIAD: From the Darkest Moment

 I wonder how bad Northern Ireland is going to turn out. I guess things are going to turn really bloody (for the IRA) in the short term?
  5. 'A Throne of Bayonets' (Russia, 18th August 1991 TL)

I can see whatever that will be left of the Ukrainian independence movement at the end of this will end up being hugely discredited.
  6. 'A Throne of Bayonets' (Russia, 18th August 1991 TL)

And so it begins... (One minor nitpick, 'the' Ukraine is generally not used by the Ukranian people. Being that it means 'the borderland', as if it were somehow part of Russia. Maybe 'Slava Ukraini!' would work better?)
  7. DBWI: No Sino-Russian nuclear war in 89

I certainly think that is possible, assuming scandals won't get in the way before that time like in the case of her two predecessors (See Algiersgate). It would also be refreshing to see a consistent foreign policy for 8 years instead of the constant flip-flopping that we had during the last 10.
  8. DBWI: No Sino-Russian nuclear war in 89

@LeoXiao Yea, I was quite surprised at the number Japanese firms when I was there last year. They're apparently also particularly active around the Yangtze river delta. Between that, the Huntsman doctrine and the current administration's increased involvement in the area, China really is...
  9. DBWI: No Sino-Russian nuclear war in 89

OOC: I think they might just try to get their hands on Soviet nukes during the collapse.
  10. DBWI: No Sino-Russian nuclear war in 89

OOC: I had this thought as well. As for potential candidates, I was actually thinking of Condoleezza Rice for 2008-present. :D The idea is that she further rises to prominence during the Bush administration (she impressed him with her knowledge about the SU IOTL, which I believe would come in...
  11. DBWI: No Sino-Russian nuclear war in 89

OOC: 'Actually liking the idea : P, I guess so far we have (for the US/UK): UK: Margaret Thatcher 1979-1991 (IOTL she resigned in 1990) Barbara Castle 1991-1995 US: George H. W. Bush 1989-??? Sherrod Brown? ???-???
  12. DBWI: No Sino-Russian nuclear war in 89

OOC: She would be over 80 years old at the time, I assume she ended up being a one term PM?
  13. DBWI: No Sino-Russian nuclear war in 89

I was in Guangzhou last year. It really is amazing how fast they are rebuilding that place (Especially compared to what it looked like 10 years ago). They even rebuild the Chigang Pagoda and other famous pre-exchange landmarks. It still will take many years (possibly even decades) before it...
  14. DBWI: No Sino-Russian nuclear war in 89

OOC: I thought about something similar for Leningrad/St Petersburg. (Though it's drinking water supply was poluted it wasn't directly damaged by the nuke)
  15. 'A Throne of Bayonets' (Russia, 18th August 1991 TL)

Fantastic TL. One of those (possible) scenarios you hear and read about but don't see executed (until now). Keep up the good work. (I guess I am also the only one that got the Empire Earth reference :D)
  16. Columbia rescue - save the space shuttle !

    Awesome TL. Hands down.
  17. Let's all go down the Strand - Images of 1984 reboot

Looking forward to the next update. :D
  18. AHC: Delay WWI as long as possible

As long as possible with it still occurring, or as long as possible, into perpetuity if possible? I would say break down the alliance system, have no countries be able to rely on one another, so that the leaders think twice about igniting a regional or even global conflict out of fear the...
  19. The Great War Late. Better than Never: Franz Dies in Budapest

    Very interested. Subscribed. :D
