  1. How would YOU carve up Germany?

Actuallymajority of them were Nazi supporters. After the war they even included mass murderers like Hans Kruger to be their politicians. Many of the expellees leaders were previously dedicated Nazis, for example Oberlander who made statements like : The struggle for ethnicity is nothing other...
  2. How many Nazis can survive Nuremburg?

Well, I wouldn't call minor Heinz Reinefarth responsible for up to 100.000 murdered people, minor, nor Hans Globke who helped Hitler get dictatorship and write racial laws. Both became prominent West German politicians after the war. Just a sample of course.
  3. How many Nazis can survive Nuremburg?

Federal Republic was actually notorious for protecting former Nazis, giving them amnesty as well as top governmental posts. DDR at least came to terms with victims of Nazi agression like Poland and Czechoslovakia much, much earlier then FGR did. Plus it didn't harbor as much Nazi criminals and...
  4. How many Nazis can survive Nuremburg?

Doenitz rewarded POWs murdering their inmates in camps. He was also fiercely antisemitic and pro-Nazi so no tears lost on that one. To see how many crimes went unpunished-just one example: http://www.archives.gov/research/guide-fed-records/groups/549.html I disagree-the trials didn't work...
  5. WI Congress of Vienna Polish-Saxon crisis leads to war

I think Russian's would win that bluff, having the largest and strongest army. A much larger Polish population and more Polish territories in Russia would make interesting consequences.
  6. How many Nazis can survive Nuremburg?

How many death sentences were there? I believe ridiculously little. In other cases sentences were insultingly small-4-5 years. And most got out after West Germany was formed and granted them amnesty. All in all-together with Wehrmacht murderers who never got punished-it's safe to say that German...
  7. If You Could Change One Historical Event, What Would It Be?

The same assembly whose members debated war against Russia to take over Baltic states, and denied national rights to Poles and Czech ? I wouldn't be so optimistic;)
  8. Eastern European Borders after CP victory?

Both Wilhelm II and Bethmann-Hollweg were in power at the time. And both wanted annexations from Russia.
  9. If You Could Change One Historical Event, What Would It Be?

Stop Konrad I of Masovia from inviting Teutonic Knights.
  10. Would a Großdeutschland be inevitable given a CP victory in WWI? Also................

I would expect a quote on that rather than general book. Where does he state that. Actually the legislation that increased seats in parliament for Ruthanians at the cost of Poles happened before the war. Did the Ukrainians who received that support viewed it in this way? I doubt. Anyway you are...
  11. Would a Großdeutschland be inevitable given a CP victory in WWI? Also................

Sure, they were proposals like that on several occasions I don't know of any nation that didn't survive the end of First World War. Oh you are wrong. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remembrance_days_in_Slovakia 30 October (1918) Anniversary of the Declaration of the Slovak Nation Výročie...
  12. Would a Großdeutschland be inevitable given a CP victory in WWI? Also................

I did a little search and it seems that both Ruthanians/Ukrainians and Poles broke off with the loyalty movement and attachment to Austria around 1894. Most of peasant and middle class started to support socialists and nationalist movements, the loyalty faction was confined to conservative...
  13. Would a Großdeutschland be inevitable given a CP victory in WWI? Also................

Source? That's description quite fitting the late XIX century, not the the timeperiod before outbreak of WW1(I believe around 1912, but perhaps this was earlier), when Habsburgs trying to counterbalance Polish influence started to support Ukrainian national movement playing both groups against...
  14. Question about Nazi Germany's economy

Soviet and Eastern European population was forced to starve by German designs. See Hunger Plan for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunger_Plan Similiar ideas and designs have been taking place in occupied Poland.
  15. Would a Großdeutschland be inevitable given a CP victory in WWI? Also................

Allied or confederated with Russian Empire. Considering that many nations today celebrate the dates they were freed from those empires after WW1- I guess those nations see for some reason this as improvement, yes.
  16. Eastern European Borders after CP victory?

Well they didn't set up any "independent" states:) Kingdom of Poland was never set up as a state during the war, neither was Ukraine I believe. Don't know about Lithuania and Baltic Duchy. As far as I know they were only preparing to create states-of course none of them were to be independent...
  17. Would a Großdeutschland be inevitable given a CP victory in WWI? Also................

Both Ukrainians and Poles wanted to break up with AH even before the war. There was a group supporting Austro-Polish solution, but there was also group wanting seperate state. He comes from imperialist position-that is he both favours in his writing the existance of large opressive Empires in...
  18. Would a Großdeutschland be inevitable given a CP victory in WWI? Also................

Probably no. USA will continue to attract scientists as well as cheap labour emigrants. German victory in WW1 means they must spend enormous amount of money on military to keep their conquests subjugated and guard itself against Russia,Britain and France.
  19. Eastern European Borders after CP victory?

If Germany wins in 1915 against West and can focus against Russia, I expect the demands to be Ukraine, Baltic states, Poland, Belarus. German nationalist leadership will see no reason to constraint itself.
  20. Eastern European Borders after CP victory?

But the map is rather dubious at some points-Lithuanian territory wouldn't be attached to Poland, since Lithuanians were to be one of the "buffers" containing Polish state. Latvia and Estonia would be annexed outright. There is also the Belaru National State missing which the Germans created as...
