Ubisoft is French, their Chinese studio is developing end war, so I doubt we will see an "Evil" China and no, no ion cannons, mech or anything like that, tanks, grunts ect with the odd space based weapon system.

I'd go along with that, in DS9 it seems that Earth and probably our colonies in the Solar system were highly developed with no poverty, but in that episode where the Chief goes under cover to infiltrate the orion syndicate, humans seemed to be living in some crappy places, also Picards "son"...
