God how sad am I, I've read alll of those.... BTW is there anyone writing Clancyesque techno-thrillers nowadays besides the ones mentioned?

The few I've read, seemed to be kind of laboured in style, and heavy on the message. Maybe it was just me, but I couldn't get into them. perhaps I should hit the library again and give them another go?:confused:

Slightly off topic, but when they were deciding what kind of storyline the 5th series was going to be about, wasn't one of the ideas that almost made it about the Federation just after the Dominion war. Things are kind of falling apart, planets are deciding wheter to leave, other galactic powers...

It was supposed to have a large budget, yet all the SFX looked like they were cooked up on a 1980's commodore 64...just awful

Yep, I have the book's, and I have chatted to Jeff on Sinodefence (very very nice guy BTW)......but....I just kept getting stuck on the point's, that 1, only if we are all good Christians will we prevail (seriously, I can't count the number of time's all the hero's were reffered to as Good...

It bombed utterly at the box office, it was re-edited for release countless time's because of bad preview screening's, the only way you could watch it (I've seen...some of it) and keep up with the story, is if you were on acid. You know a movie is shite when Justin Timberlake is the best thing...

So the sci fi channel passed up Jericho for this?:(

Massive heart attack, and every unit's called Spetsnaz because well, the Russians have about 100 different unit's designated like that, it just means "unit of special purpose/designation" it could be anyone from the janitors to the Alpha group:)

Tom Clancy has been out of circulation for a good 4 year's now, he took a break after TOTT, he didn't like it himself, to come up with fresh ideas, then when he got down to a new book in late 2006, bang he had a serious illness requiring surgery, he has only recently got back to writing.

It ain't over yet, he has more books on this coming

Well it made a good change, in TC's own stuff, if even 1 American dies, it's like the war is all about that one event, if you understand me, you can mow down hordes of Chinese/Arabs/Iranians ect but if a USN fighter jock cut's himself shaving it's all about the ass whopping payback to be delivered
