Very nice! I seem to have lost M though. Could you or someone else point it to me?

I bet the Q will be even worse.

Interesting. How close, in general, are the communist countries? For example, is Germany in independent but cordial relations, is she leaning neutral or is she antagonizing the USSR? Is there any coherent anti-communist (or just anti-USSR) movement between states?

Same thing in Greek. "η πατρίδα" means "the fatherland" but in the same time is a female noun. Probably, in the beggining the saying was "η πατρίδα γη", "the fathers' land" with the "πατρίδα" as an adjective taking the gender of the noun (the earth/land (γη) is female). And this stuck.
  7. WI: No gifting of Crimea in 1954?

Or they just use a local variant. You know parts official Russian, parts official Ukrainian, parts both (I won't argue about percentages of each, it's all Chinese to me). I imagine that in Southern Russia and Eastern-Central Ukraine people still use local dialects that are usually forced in the...

Wouldn't Japan fit better as "Dominant Party"? The ruling party is in charge almost uninteruptly since ww2 and from what I read deeply entrenched.

Moreso the depiction of clear cut borders between the various languages/dialects in those kind of maps is misleading. In plenty of (most?) cases people who speak different dialects live in the same area, they know and use more than one dialect/language or/and from a village to the next the...

Ah, so could be that the island down and left of the central blob and very close to it is Sri Lanka?

Five Greeces? I love them to pieces! Even better that none of them has the OTL northern border that seems to be a default for many AH maps though it was created pretty arbitrarily.
  12. A rump Soviet Union (without Ukraine) survives after 1991

My take is that it was perhaps a combination of economic religiosity (The Invisible Hand of the Market will take care of everything and even if there will be problems and suffering it will be worth it), opportunism (there is profit here, more chaos, more easy to pillage) and malice (shred them...

Nicely putted. And as a further observation, Christ is not a name. It come from a Greek word that means the one that has been bapthized/ the one that has been proclaimed.

You could continue by doing Malta and her grand Mediterranean Empire. :winkytongue: Edit: Nevermind the assorted non-mediterranian colonies, satellites, protectorates and satrapies.

This is very good! Did you build the basemap yourself? It could be used in future history in general, especially the depiction of the solar system. What a "Warpgun" is? A weapon? A catapult for FTL travels? A catapult for FTL travels that can double as a weapon? Also, Balkan Union, yay! Do...

I enjoyed this timeline very much! Are there going to be more updates?
