  1. Alternate warships of nations

I have all of these in one of my closets, I really ought to dig them out and reread them, it was the last milliena that I saw them.
  2. Alternate warships of nations

Luftwaffe 1946 is entertaining but not to be taken seriously...
  3. Alternate warships of nations

The two things I vividly remember from the special I watched was that intact torpedoes were found in the wreck (meaning they hadn't exploded which was one of the theories) and that the rudder was hard over meaning Hood was turning at the time she was hit.
  4. Alternate warships of nations

Hood certainly was better than the Lexington's.
  5. Alternate warships of nations

Given YAMATO's beam I don't see this being a problem. And it would reduce the severe blast problem they suffered with the 18.1-inch guns as well as reduced stress on the guns and hull.
  6. Dawn of the Dead (2004) 15 years after the outbreak...

A crew member getting infected on a ship is bad enough, on a sub its 10 times worse. Any ship trying to escape with whatever crew it can scrape up will have a good chance of taking on someone being infected, and you know the crew will want to bring along any family they have. The medical staff...
  7. Dread Nought but the Fury of the Seas

Always been a fan of battlecruisers - and armored cruisers as well (even though those were an evolutionary dead-end). Under the proper circumstances they had value, it was only when put in poor tactical positions their flaws became apparent.
  8. Dread Nought but the Fury of the Seas

Absolutely agree, the only way to get any significant improvement is a larger and much more expensive hull...
  9. Dread Nought but the Fury of the Seas

Not bad. Just a few nitpicks: Don't like the armored box but you were forced into it Range short, ditto Main Battery rpg is low, ditto Secondary Battery guns not mount and hoist Poor seakeeping But given the parameters I think you did the best you could...
  10. Dawn of the Dead (2004) 15 years after the outbreak...

    That they were...
  11. Dawn of the Dead (2004) 15 years after the outbreak...

Agreed, but in DAY OF THE DEAD it was mentioned that whatever brought corpses back to life also slowed the decay process. It was going to be a decade or more before that happened. IRL flies would be laying maggots in every corpse they could find which would eat away the dead flesh until the...
  12. Dawn of the Dead (2004) 15 years after the outbreak...

Yeah, when you're outnumbered 400,000 to one (original DAY OF THE DEAD) just shooting them is no longer a practical option...
  13. Dawn of the Dead (2004) 15 years after the outbreak...

Guns aren't the total solution as there's a finite amount of ammo. My ex-coworker has a lot of guns but is always complaining about the high cost of ammunition and the fact that it's frequently hard to obtain, especially in large quantities.
  14. Dread Nought but the Fury of the Seas

I can do this. I'm guessing twin 8-inch, twin and triple 9.2-inch and twin 12-inch designs?
  15. Alternate warships of nations

Reminds me of my old EPA ship; held together with Duct Tape, tie wraps and Red Hand sealant...
  16. Alternate warships of nations

Submarines were still fairly new and not well understood. Yes the British had some blunders but so did everyone else, it was a learning curve. One of my favorite stories is from SUBS AND SUBMARINERS by Whitehouse. A captain was visiting the yard where his sub was being built. He noticed a...
  17. Dawn of the Dead (2004) 15 years after the outbreak...

I must agree with Resurgam, the situation is deteriorating at an insane pace. It would be difficult at best and all but impossible at worst to implement any long-term plans.
  18. Alternate warships of nations

My understanding is that it was to increase broadside firepower while reducing weight. They made the ships very topheavy and were both complicated and fragile. They were not a success and no one else tried copying them.
  19. Dawn of the Dead (2004) 15 years after the outbreak...

IIRC Andy said his daughter and ex-wife were in some remote area like Montana and less likely to run into as many undead.
  20. Dawn of the Dead (2004) 15 years after the outbreak...

I thought the extras were even better than the movie itself, they filled in a lot of gaps. Always hoped Andy's little girl made it through ok...
