  1. Stupid Luck and Happenstance, Thread II

Unfortunately, Australia lost in the Second Emu war, and all were driven into the desert ahead of the marauding poultry. The few survivors are currently eking out a Mad Max style civilization.
  2. The betrayal of the Kaiserliche Marine and the resurrection of the Reichsmarine

If these ships are all supposed to be raiders, I feel like it would be best to have majority of guns aft. Especially the panzerschiff. They don't want to fight, they want to run. So, the main guns aft, maybe some 5.9 turrets forward for dealing with merchants and light escorts.

Absolutely. Unreliable narrators are a thing, due to their being misinformed, or what have you.

He does have plenty of dynamite, though. If he can rig up a good charge underneath the dock, he might be able to break it in half.
  5. CP Victory German Navy

I don't think that Italy as a naval power needs to be considered. Whatever Mediterranean holdings can be defended adequately by S-boats, u-boats, and coastal defences. After all, Germany now has a border with Italy, and can walk right in if Italy starts making trouble. If we assume that the UK...
  6. CP Victory German Navy

What enemy is likely? It seems that with France and the UK both in a state of civil war that they won't be in a position to be much of a threat. The US won't be bothered as long as you don't touch their stuff. Also note that without a naval treaty, ancient ships like the Tegetthoffs and the...

I think this is a repeat of A Tall Straight Bow. Mostly
  8. Stupid Luck and Happenstance, Thread II

Fair enough, I was being somewhat hyperbolic.

Roman chamomile would be my guess. Of course, but I would still suspect that there is corruption.
  10. Stupid Luck and Happenstance, Thread II

From a military standpoint, that isn't corruption, that's an investment. If the CIA felt it weren't doing them any good, they might get an agent that would actually accomplish something. Kiki should have some understanding of that from a basic military standpoint. If she wants some corruption to...

Probably not much. Probably also of questionable vintage.

Some of that particularly with those that arrived in the 1800s is a corruption of "Deutch". Hence, Pennsylvania Dutch, and the like.

Galiano would be a fine little vessel to have, unfortunately it's a little small for their purposes.
  14. The Rainbow. A World War One on Canada's West Coast Timeline

Right, getting ships off of the shore or rocks is a fair bit different then pulling them off of the harbor bottom.
  15. Stupid Luck and Happenstance, Thread II

Electric winches, with switch controls near the helm are great.

Beyond that, this is the backside of nowhere. Just bringing the salvage gear in would be expensive, since most of it isn't really designed for crossing oceans at that time. Since they won't be a navigation hazard, I doubt that anyone will bother trying to salvage them in the short term. None of...
  17. Stupid Luck and Happenstance, Thread II

Small ones are actually built for it. You'd need to be good, of course, but that particular one is a 35 foot, that is designed for the solo sailor.
  18. Stupid Luck and Happenstance, Thread II

Maybe she should look into sailing. A small schooner could do much the same, motoring up and down rivers with the option of going out to sea to stretch her legs. One around 12 meters should do nicely.
  19. Stupid Luck and Happenstance, Thread II

There are occasions where doing something like that is worth it to keep the peace. Besides, you may enjoy it despite your misgivings. Thankfully, I never had to go on any dates like that. I wasn't dating in college, and when I graduated, I had a woman picked out. (Luckily, she knew it to). So, I...
