Plot twist: the guy they went to kill isn't Hitler. Hitler found Alive in Argentina in 1969

Eichmann was living in the greater Buenos Aires, though. If Hitler retires to a countryside farm and remains surrounded only by people loyal to him, he may be able to skip detection

WI: Soviet Tanks Blew Up Hitler in 1943?

A nuclear WW3 by the 1960s and forward would have resulted in hundreds, if not thousands of nuclear weapons used in the battlefield, and the battlefield would have been Germany

Hitler found Alive in Argentina in 1969

Either that, or they've entered the country under fake identities. Hitler entering the country under a fake identity may be possible. He may even hide in remote areas and even be protected by assorted German nationalists. But he won't be protected by the government. And on top, would Hitler...

Hitler found Alive in Argentina in 1969

Yes, as technical advisors. But as much as they may have agreed with Nazism, they didn't create it. And it's not like Hitler can get to work in developing jet fighters, or train the air force in performing CAS missions. It would be political advise. Why would he provide it for a Latin American...

What would a nuclear war in 2014 have looked like

Yeah, well, the USA could have had Hillary "no fly zone in Syria" Clinton. So maybe Syria gets hot between Russia and the USA and Putin, realizing logistics would make Russia loose, tries to escalate to de-escalate and it doesn't work? With Russian and American fighters already fighting in the...

AHC/WI: US jet fighter in service by 1943-44

Rather than as a fighter, a jet fighter could be used in the same role as the Mosquito. And yes, the Mosquito was "Mega-fuck ton of good enough". But the introduction of faster and faster Luftwaffe fighters can lead American planners to consider the "good enough" quality of the Mosquito can be...

WI : A-7 Corsairs II's used by Argentina in 1982?

They would be sitting in the hangars due American sanctions. The most likely scenario is the Junta selling them somewhere in the late 1970s because the alternative is to keep the Air Force using F-86s Sabres, and buying more Mirage IIIs and Israeli Mirage Vs. As a result, the Argentine Air Force...

Naval developments in a world without nukes

If the Manhattan Project doesn't start at all, nuclear weapons research can remain a low priority for enough time that they end up delayed for a few decades

Naval developments in a world without nukes

Accuracy. Without nuclear weapons, sticking missiles on a sub means removing torpedoes in order to put something that will, at best, hit the city around the target with a few hundred kilograms of explosives at most. At least, until anti-ship missiles become a thing by the late 1960s and the...

Naval developments in a world without nukes

Right. That means navies develop in a nukeless world in the inmediate WW2 post war. Nukes probably become a thing by the 1960s or 1970s if WW3 didn't blow up before that (or during WW3), and navies would adjust accordingly later. It's also possible that with nuclear weapons development in the...

What if: Apollo 10 landed on the Moon?

What if they become unable to return because their gamble doesn't pay and they manage to land successfully, but either can't take off or make it to orbit or RV with the orbiting module? And the history of humankind's first landing in another body is that of a crew who died doing it because they...

Was it surprising Argentina didn't become a decent size power or at least a dominant economy?

Would you use Mercadolibre's debit card if you happened to start selling stuff there and, thus, ending up with money in their system? Or using their app for making purchases? If so, you're now investing in a common investment fund and your savings are circulating through the stock market

Was it surprising Argentina didn't become a decent size power or at least a dominant economy?

You need governors or presidents who recognize the problem, decide to solve it and whenever they need to buy concrete, they demand top quality whether they need it or not. And when the suppliers come with a bribe to ask them to allow weaker concrete, this paladin of honesty and productivity...

Was it surprising Argentina didn't become a decent size power or at least a dominant economy?

Quite a few of those rivers are not naturally navigable for anything other that small boats (presumably, they are too shallow). They can be made navigable, although that takes money. Or I guess hovercraft can be used, although those are a lot more expensive than river barges.
