  1. A Tall Glass of Piemonade

So what is the POD then?
  2. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

    This one is quite good.
  3. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

Why don't you use the idea and enter?
  4. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

That's the kind of thing I was thinking about, so it has my support. Should we start the new wave of MoF with the next round, because we should start to gather the suggestions now to run the poll in the second week of MOF45. Or will MoF46 be done the old way, and the new wave will start...
  5. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

How about the order of the rounds in the batches is selected by me and Krall? That we you have a rough idea of whats coming up, but not when. I'm also not keen on a 'free for all' for the wildcard round, at least no every time, since we have the Map Thread for that anyway. Maybe the wildcard...
  6. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

Well I guess it will all depend on the suggestions that are suggested as well. For one voting session the top five may all be ASB related, but then in the next time a mix of ancient and medieval, etc.
  7. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

It's more about having the challenge be a bit harder and descriptive. For example: - A radical group is given access to a wormhole that links back 200 years into the past. Your map must depict the results of the radical groups meddling in the past. Its a bit more complex then the regular...
  8. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

To me it didn't matter about the numbers available, but to present different sorts of challenges to being found in the regular rounds. My initial thought was to not allow the use of a full UCS, simply to get people to thinking about different colour schemes, and a certain level of back story...
  9. Map Thread VIII

Maybe if General_Finley had included a map key people could know what was going on.
  10. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

On consideration that could work, especially with an idea I have been kicking around recently. Essentially alongside the regular MOF rounds we have what I have roughly termed "Crappa Mappa Mundi" [name subject to change]. The focus would be on more challenging contests, designed to be a bit...
  11. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

That kinda complicates things, creating so many threads. A couple of simpler ideas are: The runner of the map contest selects the 3-5 most popular suggestions and chooses one at random. OR The winner of the previous round chooses the next challenge. I prefer the first one. I'd also...
  12. Map Thread VIII

This map was intended for Mof43, but I wasn't happy with all the blank space. The gist of it is that the templars discover how to build teleporters, called 'Solomon Gates'. The map shows the major gatehouses in Europe and the Middle East. I wasn't happy with it because of all that empty space...
  13. Map Thread VIII

Finally a good map. Its a really interesting series and its obvious that you put alot of effort in. - - - To all those people using UCS basemaps could you please use a key? It stops people asking 'what nation is that?' and increases the quality of your work.
  14. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

There will always be one or two that pop up. I've got a few ideas bouncing around. As long as people try to be creative it should be good.
  15. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

Well a subversion of the idea could be interesting, as in depicting a utopia for a certain nation, but I think they would get a bit samey. This sounds good, and could lend itself to some interesting and hopefully unique ideas.
  16. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

No we don't. I personally don't think the optomistic/utopia will work, since the maps wouldn't be that interesting. Scramble may work, but I think my idea of The Croatoans could work well. Or even the old Sports idea, as a change of pace.
  17. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

I'd considered that, but it can get a bit overplayed as you say.
  18. Map of the Fortnight: Main thread

I know Alternate Soviet Union is next but I had an idea. The Croatoans Show a world where a colony founded IOTL fails, and the result of that failure. I think it would work best with a post-1495 POD myself, but ymmv.
  19. "The Bloody Man"

I'm no expert on the area, but I suspect it is far more plausible that two other kingdoms such as maybe France and the Netherlands are involved rather then two new ones created, but I'm willing to be proved wrong.
  20. "The Bloody Man"

The Kingdom of Northumbria hasn't been relevant since the 7th Century, and Wales was never a Kingdom. The Isle of Wight was briefly a Kingdom, so maybe EdT plans to restore it?
