I suggest you leave a little bit more whitespace between the edge of the yellow and the blue. Maybe a 2:3:2 proportioned stripes with the sun also 2? edit: here, have one in 3:4:3 instead

You're not using Inkscape? Free & Open-Source, lets you create and use custom patterns, and best of all, vector maps allow you to get all the pesky islands with just the one colour change.

It's the Federation Star, not the British Empire Star. One point for each of the states, and one for either the territories or Federation as a whole depending on who you ask.
