  1. AHC: Have a Green Party come to power somewhere.

The best bet seems to be the Greens leading a coalition in Germany. Seeing as Germany essentially runs the EU (at least it did before carona) what kind of differences could a Green Germany make in the EU?
  2. AHC: Have a Green Party come to power somewhere.

So If the Grand coalition collapses they would hold new elections?
  3. AHC: Have a Green Party come to power somewhere.

Either as the dominant member in a coalition or as a majority government. For reference here's a wiki page that lists the various contemporary green parties: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Greens
  4. Can anyone recommend a good Australian republic timeline?

I've heard that the republic referendum of 1999 is something of a cliche POD but I can't find any timelines about it anywhere.
  5. Feasibility check: Australia refuses to send troops to Iraq, leading to a diplomatic spat.

Or failing this, are there any other way ANZUS/Aus-US relations might collapse post 1990? We've been practically joined at the hip since the end of the cold war.
  6. Feasibility check: Australia refuses to send troops to Iraq, leading to a diplomatic spat.

The Iraq War would have gone on with or without Australia. What POD would have Australia stay out of the war? Would the ANZUS treaty survive or would the Americans not care? Would they kick us out of the F35 program? Would they call us mean names? Discuss.
  7. AHC: A Great Leap Forward that works.

I imagine the Sino-Soviet split was going to happen regardless so not much aid from that quarter. Does anyone know of an alternative to Mao's collectivization? Was it a one man show or did somebody else in the party have a better idea?
  8. AHC: A Great Leap Forward that works.

Any way China could industrialize without going pseudo-capitalist?
  9. Drakon Question

So if Stirling wrote the Gwen parts they can be considered semi-canon? Not that it really goes into much detail about what happens to earth 2.
  10. Drakon Question

There's also what would happen if the portal had failed and Gwen had to conquer the world with no support from the Domination. That would be a fascinating timeline though I have no energy to start one.
  11. Drakon Question

Half way through the first one. I've started skipping all the sex scenes because they're just prolific. "Like Rabits" doesnt start to cover it. The bits from Gwen are quite fascinating though. I can believe Stirling wrote them.
  12. Drakon Question

Well its hard to beat something co-written by the man himself. Thanks for the link.
  13. Drakon Question

It makes sense to wipe out the world's militaries but it would be easier to keep the governments relatively intact. There are only 100 million draka in their TL so they would be heavily outnumbered when they arrived. They would need the local governments to help manage things. Carpet bombing...
  14. Drakon Question

They did mention "bio bombs" during the final war in their timeline. I imagine those are either viruses or neutron bombs. So it looks like its gonna be genocide then?
  15. Drakon Question

So something like a global shock and awe campaign? Something that cripples us but doesn't wipe us out? Yes a planet sized theme park sounds very Draka haha.
  16. Drakon Question

If Gwen had won at the end of Drakon, would the Draka conquest be a brutal worldwide campaign of genocide or would they they try to keep casualties to a minimum? Being preservationists, the Draka wouldn't be too keen on nuking their new prize let alone killing all 6 billion potential serfs...
  17. All Hail Britannia

Well the POD is that Graves shortens his line at the battle of the Chesapeake. Something he was chastised by admiral Rodney for NOT doing in OTL (Larrabee, Harold A (1964). Decision at the Chesapeake. New York: Clarkson N. Potter, page 272) So no, this is an attempt to create a non ASB code...
  18. All Hail Britannia

So, what happens next? I'm thinking the consiliationists would have a new lease on life in the US congress.
  19. All Hail Britannia

PROLOGUE: Excerpt from Dr Clara Summers lecture on Britannian Historical Revisionism, 5/5/1901 ‘I mean the notion that the Celts of Britain somehow united under some kind of super king and then defeated Julius freaking Caesar is laughable. Caesar’s conquest of Britain amounted to him walking...
  20. AHC: The 13 commonwealths.

With a POD between 1945 and 1969, re-organise the 50 united states into 12 commonwealths and a federal government. Go. Yes, this is fallout inspired.
