Unless it's an oversight, the fact that she's using the middle initial seems to imply she still had her writing career, since in OTL it's meaningless and was added essentially as a pen name.

How logical it is depends on the reason for the regency, really.

That's the logical way to do it. Have a state legalise it, someone challenge that in court and have the SCOTUS decide that banning it is unconstitutional (for reasons of freedom of speech, presumably). The problem is finding a court that would actually rule that way.

They could also in theory vote for someone who isn't eligible to be president (since there are essentially no restrictions on who can be speaker except getting a majority to vote for you), in which case the President Pro Temp of the Senate would become president.
