  1. ABLE ARCHER 83: Timeline of a Third World War in 1983

Yes, but then again I would expect a massive shift to the right especially in the directly affected/invaded countries afterwards. So this issue would probably pop up anyway in post-war Europe.
  2. Rommel survives World War II

Actually he was the hugely popular major of Stuttgart for decades. A moderate Christian Democrat who probably would have had a shot at chancellorship in the 70s/80s if he wanted (but he preferred to stay in Stuttgart).
  3. AHC: German–Austrian merger and monarchist restoration in the '90s

Well, a bit Pan-Germanist in the beginning. Was not very sucessful even among their supporters, s they mainly dropped it. Also, the FPÖ is a buch of Nazi-Symps, so they do not really fit into your boundary conditions. There is no real urge in Austria to unify with Germany. The failed attempt...
  4. German WI: No Spiegelaffäre

'Last Days of America' by Paul Erdman (1980) features a chancellor Strauss with nuclear weapons. I don't think he would have went that far. We talk about a different time, I think the attempt would have killed him politically (altough I might be wrong, are there any polls etc about public...
  5. German WI: No Spiegelaffäre

He had about a snowballs chance in hell to even come close to pull this thing through (and knew it). But then again, Spiegelaffäre and Cuba Crisis actually overlapped in late Ocober '62  A desperate FJS, fearing his secret world-domination plot will be revealed manages to provoke WWIII...
  6. German WI: No Spiegelaffäre

I guess not that much (apart from a zillion squadrons of the usual butterflies). The basic political conflicts would evolve anyway, and FJS would be in much better position as MP of Bavaria. However, things inside of the conservative/free-democrat camp would become interesting in the chinese...
  7. Zhirinovsky's Russian Empire

I assume that a stronger NATO would mean a more integrated EU too. It also depends how hostile the UIS is regarded in the following years - do the Europeans see it as a direct danger (like invasion etc) as the ols Soviet Union/WP ? That would have vast butterfly effects ... lots of money spent...
  8. West and East Germany never unify

Would be very difficult to acheive. While only few people seriously expected reunification even in mid-89 (I honestly don't know anyone, not even the conservatives I knew back then), as soon as the wall fell things gained an incredible momentum. Interstingly, Hackett's WWIII also has two...
  9. Methods for Soviet Atomic Attack on the US Mainland

Did the Soviets know about the locations the key nuclear production facilities and where the US nukes were stored ? These would be also potential targets.
  10. What If Germany never declared war on the US?

Seriously ? Is that the 'poor bullied germans had no other choice than to follow Adolf and start WWII' variation ? Usually you only hear that from grumpy old geezers who should know better
  11. Rommel's fate post WW2

Manfred Rommel was (lord)major of Stuttgart from 74-96. Extremely popular, even outside of his party (CDU). Probably would have been chancellor if he wanted, but he always refused to even try it.
  12. The Fountainhead Filibuster: Tales from Objectivist Katanga

It is crowded behind the sofa.:D:D:D
  13. Adolf Hitler not antisemetic

Yep. As someone stated in a similar thread some time ago, why do people rarely do TL about a successful Weimar ? Somehow there seems to be an urge among certain suspects to see the Nazis-light winning. Also, certain (German) regulars obviously fascinated by this subject never show up in these...
  14. The Fountainhead Filibuster: Tales from Objectivist Katanga

Don't forget the Andersons. Supermarionation, anyone? :D:D:D
  15. Kaiserkreiger anthology?

The guy is real, and quite active on German SF boards. Nice guy, but I never got into his stuff.
  16. An enduring Soviet Union..well atleast throughout the 90s and WWIII

Nicolae Ceaușescu ? Shot on December 25th, 1989 ... And why do we have to expect the Romanians to assert their 'communist roots' ?
  17. The Fountainhead Filibuster: Tales from Objectivist Katanga

Stop depleting the monthly base awesomeness of AHC that early in April :D:D
  18. Fun Essay On Author John Ringo.

Liberal like left wing ? Seriously ?:confused: He calls himself a High-Tory.
  19. The Fountainhead Filibuster: Tales from Objectivist Katanga

Exactly how I imagined this guy :p A bit like Peter Sellers, Inspector Clouseau in Katanga.
  20. The Fountainhead Filibuster: Tales from Objectivist Katanga

:D:p Perfect way to begin a Sunday, so I gather the guys obtained their own air force ??
