TL-191 Uniform, weapons and equipment of the Secondary Combatants.

No Lewis gun. That thing was designed by an American who went to the UK because the US chief of Ordnance was a fucking moron.

TL-191: Featherston's Finest - Uniforms, Weapons, and Vehicles of the CSA and Freedom Party

Honestly, being a Mormon and from Utah, J.M. Browning shouldn't even be any sort of factor in TL-191.

Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

The simple fact that the gun can fire existing ammo stockpiles and this be fed with the existing logistics, such as they are, would be reason enough for me to adopt a german boomstick if I was the Vichy in this TL.

Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

In my head, this thing would be an early war emergency refit. The old version (with close to OTL armament) would have been the German Empire's mainstay tank for most of the 30s, until they switched to a Panzer III/IV hybrid-esque vehicle on the eve of the war. War being waht it is in that world...

Don't hurry on my account, that piece is in early gestation still. And thank you.

Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

Dude, that German armed M3... fit it with German-style running gear (i.e. roadwheels and such) and it would be a PERFECT piece of kit for a CP victory world-building project I'm working on. Early war refit of a late 20s design.

    Alternate History Combat Aircraft

How about the A7M with one? IIRC the main reason it got canned initially was the lack of a suitable engine.

TL-191: Yankee Joe - Uniforms, Weapons, and Vehicles of the U.S. Armed Forces

I think a lot of people underestimate/are unaware of just how influential he was. He created the modern handgun (with the Browning/FN 1900), he created .45 ACP, he created the M1917 Machine gun (albeit in a watercooled version, not the far more famous air-cooled .30 cal of WW2 fame), the BAR...

All hail the .50 BMG, and St. John Moses Browning, who is it's prophet and creator.

Yeah. Hell, look up the FN 1900 pistol if you want influentual. He designed that too.

TL-191: Yankee Joe - Uniforms, Weapons, and Vehicles of the U.S. Armed Forces

The designer of the M1911 was Mormon... In fact, aside from the Springfield and the Maxim, Browning designed just about everything the US used between the 1880s and 1918.

TL-191: Yankee Joe - Uniforms, Weapons, and Vehicles of the U.S. Armed Forces

I happen to actually be German, and every german-language source I've read since I was old enough referred to those units as Abteilung with whatever number. Google Translate can suck it.

TL-191: Yankee Joe - Uniforms, Weapons, and Vehicles of the U.S. Armed Forces

Uh.... no. That translates as Heavy Tank Battalion 501 as the closest translation. The heavy tanks were mostly assigned as a Corps-level asset because they were too damn slow and too few in number.

Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

You can also use them to troll the infantry when on exercise. The following is paraphrasing from something I heard an Ex-Conqueror crewman say: Tank halts next to cold and wet Infantry squad in North-German trench that is trying to get a camping stove going. Driver opens top hatch. "Sir, do...
