I hereby advocate for the annexation of the State of Queensland into the United States of America. The US might as well need another Texas.

As much as I find any Anarcho-Suffix ideologies to be meme-worthy, they certainly make for good sci-fi settings.

Perhaps we Aussies don't need Yank-style gun laws, I for one would prefer Swiss, Kiwi or Czech-style legislation.

I assume it's due to a lack of large scale immigration to that area? Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne get all the immigration, which royally fucks over both those in regional Australia and the metro areas.

Cyclones are a pain in the rear, but my part of CQ rarely gets them because of our location. Either way, we still get a fuck-tonne of rain, but never any of the floods and rough weather. As for the population? I doubt it.

I'm at the very southern tip of the Reef, so we get a lot of tourists coming north either by car or cruise ship. I'd honestly prefer it if we re-annex Papua New Guinea, seeing that it's turned into one hell of a success story /s.
