The Weird, the Shocking, and The Suspenceful: an alternate comics story

What's punk like? Also, I'm wondering how stuff like the Misfits and Rob Zombie/White Zombie turned out.

The Weird, the Shocking, and The Suspenceful: an alternate comics story

Good update. I'm assuming that Romero's career will be closer to stuff like Knightriders and he'll have done adaptations of EC Horror comics earlier. Also, do you got anything about the state of music ITTL?

The Weird, the Shocking, and The Suspenceful: an alternate comics story

Excited about the updates on Underground Comix. I wonder when they inevitably fuse porn and violence how many people it'll offend. Politics and Political TLs aren't really my thing, so I can't really comment on the newest TL.

The Weird, the Shocking, and The Suspenceful: an alternate comics story

Just wondering. I honestly liked the films ending better, mainly because I don't see someone who rapes people for fun ever truly changing.

The Weird, the Shocking, and The Suspenceful: an alternate comics story

Good update. All this talk of Kubrick reminds me of A Clockwork Orange- maybe the backlash against horror will cause the books epilogue to be adopted?

The Weird, the Shocking, and The Suspenceful: an alternate comics story

How did I not notice this TL?! It's really good. Thanks for crediting me as inspiration, too. So did NotLD get more funding due to gory horror comics being more acceptable and popular? Edit: And know that I think of it, will you be including anything on Stephen King come the '70s?

RIP, Robert. 1945 was one of the first AH books I read.

    Animation WI: No Cartoon Network

This. The main reason Fox revived it was that it did so well on Adult Swim. Without CN, no Adult Swim. Without [as], no Family Guy revival. No Rick and Morty, no Regular Show, no Adventure Time, no ATHF... on the bright side, we might still have South Park and Futurama, and we'll definitely...

    WI. No Rupert Murdoch?

Damn, when you put it that way, Rupert Murdoch almost seems like a good person. Also, that last bit would suck soooo hard for me, especially between 2006-2013, as I had no cable throughout those years. Yeah, I do think stuff like The Regular Show and Adventure Time would come around...

    AHC: No Comics Code Authortiy

IIRC, they were a part of Dell Comics at the time of the Code's institution, and they used their wholesome reputation to stay out of the Code (they even changed the advertising slogan to "Dell Comics are Good Comics"). It worked out for them as their comics sold well until Gold Key split off in...

    AHC: No Comics Code Authortiy

I don't know how you could destroy the anti-comics backlash altogether (it was bound to happen sometime, probably still sometime in the '50s) but the form the CCA took OTL could be destroyed. Maybe have Wertham's "methodology" behind Seduction Of The Innocent (exaggerations and outright lies)...

DBWI: EC comics shuts down in the 50's

Wow, this has big implications for George A. Romero's career. I wonder if he'd go back to ghouls (or walkers, or whatever you wanna call the flesh eating undead) earlier without the EC comics to adapt? Practically all his films from the '70s and '80s were based off of EC properties. I wonder...

Should I Read These and What Should I Read?

How Few Remain is good, although I never finished it I liked what I read. The Sky People and In The Courts Of The Crimson Kings are a good update of retro scifi and come highly recommended. For Want of Nail is very good for something presented as a dry history book. The Man in the High Castle is...

    WI. No Rupert Murdoch?

I could do without Family Guy as long as it means asshats like Hannity and Beck not getting their own TV shows. I'm also hoping that without Fox the reality TV turd bomb doesn't go off and cover everything with shit for years. The thing I'm wondering is, without The Simpsons and other Fox...

    Last Order-Turtledove Vol 6

I'm not reading it. I read the others and they pissed me off. I really wish he wrote the insane Canadawank entitled "Redverse" that I dreamt about last night instead of the crap he does now.

    Wolfenstein: New World Order

I got the game on PS3 a several hours ago, and like it much better than any other alt-hist games I've played before. I like the fact that they didn't emulate CoD, I like the lean and overcharge mechanics, and of course I like killing Nazi Scum. The two gripes I have are occasionally muddy...

    Wolfenstein: New World Order

I am so excited for this game! I just watched Total Biscuit's playthrough of Wolfenstein's London Nautica level (he liked it, and I generally trust him), and the only gripes from I've heard from anyone are graphical glitches on the PC (which doesn't matter to me as I'll be getting it on the...

Soviet Technologies/Procedures the West Didn't Have

I've heard that the Soviets produced a computer that used chemicals instead of transistors or such. Don't know if it was true though.
