The F-4 and, afaik, the A-6 were too big for the older carriers, hence the Crusader's longevity; as for the A-7, it filled the light attack/support role. Tbh, this last role is something I think the USN at the time should have given entirely to the USMC...

But those were all pretty much early generation jets, flown by (mostly) smaller carriers. Note that the F-4 was replaced by the twins F-14 and F-18, and the bomber force went for the twin-engined A-6; the single engine A-7 became the exception.

The F-4 was also a twin engined model; for overwater flights at the time, this was absolutely vital. And I believe the F-4 had greater rate of climb, a must for an interceptor.

You don't think this is a bit too ambicious? I don't think Ireland has both the economy or the population to suport this force. Switzerland had about 100 fighters in 1939, and that was with them smack in what by then everyone knew was going to be a war zone, and today has less than 80 fighters...

Very true. The italians did try to get some "rush in and shoot, rush out" tactics, when they thought they could catch an isolated brit, but bad luck and uterly horrible coordination with the air force ruined any chance...

Tbf, almost all british BBs would be run down by the italians. It was their greatest advantage...

The ships do not carry the terminal guidance radars used by the USN, the AN/SPG-62. instead, the SPY-3 is being/going to be modified to do this. But the normal SM-2 and ESSM cannot receive from the SPY-3, so the missiles have to be modifed specifically to work on the Zulwalts... all of which...

True but this ship was pretty much built specifically for those two 155mm guns and their ammo. Without them, it's just a missile carrier, inferior to any other ship of the USN, since it can't provide terminal guidance for the long range SAMs it carries.

At a million dollars per round, there's no wallet that can sustain that gun... so now the ship is a glorified missile barge...

With what army? Hitler didn't start actually rearming untill 1935; before that he had just planing and creating of covert organizations and infrastuture. And how does Germany keep/grab the Sudetenland? And when did Austria stop being independent? And how does Germany regain Alsace-Lorraine...

What about something like this, the chinese Type 63 light rocket launcher? It's too big to be "bike mounted" but still small.

Hardly the same thing as a Katyusha-type rocket...

A Katyusha would be of limited use in a jungle, I think. You'd need large salvos to afect the dense terrain; your mini-version wouldn't get the job done.
