Fantastic work as always Serafim. Really love the originality of these stories and the level of care you put into these maps to convey them.

    Planetocopia Map Thread

To be fair, it's not like anyone really knows _what_ a deglaciated Antarctica would look like, let alone some of the examples here which've never had an ice sheet full stop. Poaching from Great White South; I'd wager this is a fairly reasonable go at balancing the land rise.

    The M-BAM Main Thread

FWIW, I'd say 4/ths of the work for it is done, but some cross referencing with google maps suggests that a fair bit of detail could be added to the Russian coastline to bring it up to par with the standard in Europe. Still, better than most actual 'official' maps you see at even similar scales...

Deeply, deeply impressive work, all. Visiting this thread never fails to bring my jaw to the floor; keep up the great work!

OTL Map Thread Mk IV., 2014-

Does anyone have maps for 1730~? So far the closest I've found are worldas of 1700 and 1750.

TLIAW - The Second Protectorate: Life in George Galloway's Britain

Utterly fantastic story; the structure of the pieces, the compelling ideas and writing - they all combine to create a captivating work to read. The feelings you put in this really shine through. I know I'll find myself returning to this in future, thank you for making this, Sideways!

Decided to give a go at making a map based off of this. Much more solid than a lot of language maps out there, but I'm wary about those groups in Russia.

The Update the WorldA maps Thread - Collaborative effort

Right, right. I'll see if I can get a ball rolling here. How should we go about patching the worlda, then? I figure individually people will probably be able to point out some areas worth looking at and suggest some smaller patches - as it is I reckon a lot of patches are floating about, but...

to paraphrase a line from B_Munro... Better to let Sacramento drown than to see our state renowned for the Great San Francisco Dyke.

Incredible stuff, the emotions really bleed through from each of the characters. The more I read, the more I find myself drawn in.

    Koppen in Worlda Scale

Update: As helpful is, that PDF isn't as convenient to use as it could be. I've converted it to an actual image (PNG) but it's big enough that imgur might not do the job. I'll try and link it. EDIT: Not actually as big as I was worried it might be (still pretty big!), but I'll stick with a...

    Koppen in Worlda Scale

I have some stuff saved with a mix and match of patches pilfered from different maps and some of my own attempts. I'll send you what I have. Also, just looked around for some more sources and found this. (original site here) Not sure if you've seen that before, but that is some serious...

    Koppen in Worlda Scale

Real neat to see this, Beedok! This'd be a pretty helpful resource to have to hand - I'll see if I can't chip in. : > Not the same projection and the cutoff meridians differ, but it probably wouldn't be _impossible_ to use paint.net or photoshop (or whatever) layers for this. Probably not worth...

I think they were referring to the steppeland? It is pretty dry down there, iirc. Really neat & well executed concept though! I wonder what islands-come-highlands like Sardinia or Crete would be like?

Parts of this bug me, like the very squiggly borders in the sahara and the (inevitable) disparities in population (ie, empty western sahara VS dense vietnam). That said, this is amazing work! You've managed to make some really neat parallels here and the attention to detail really comes...
