How would RFK handle Vietnam if he won in 1968, in your own personal opinion?

My mistake, then getting back to Reagan, he only did due to his "favorite son" win in the California primary if I remember correctly. Regardless, it took extraordinary circumstances to get Reagan elected in 1980 OTL, I don't think the circumstances to even get him nominated would be there in...

How would RFK handle Vietnam if he won in 1968, in your own personal opinion?

He'd have another full term as Governor of Michigan (a competitive state) under his belt, and after two close losses by center right Nixon and a landslide loss by far right Goldwater, I think "brainwashed" comment or not, he'd stand a good chance, especially if RFK fails to live up to the hype...

How would RFK handle Vietnam if he won in 1968, in your own personal opinion?

If not him, Romney or Chuck Percy. Maybe Howard Baker. I agree it's too soon for Reagan, especially not even a decade after the Goldwater disaster of 64.

    AHC/WI: Reagan 68', Nixon 80'

I think if a two term Ted Kennedy administration starts as a result of a failed Reagan Presidency from 69-73, a more moderate Republicanism would emerge in 1980, unless said moderate Republicanism lost in a crushing landslide in 1976, which I don't think it would have, it would've been close.

    AHC/WI: Reagan 68', Nixon 80'

I think there's a good chance Reagan would lose in 1972 if he were to somehow win in 68. The Reagan of that era was much more fringe and angry than the sunny optimist that was elected in 1980. Someone like Muskie, Jackson, or even Humphrey, heck even Teddy Kennedy if butterflies prevent...

Tim Burton and Michael Keaton stays with Batman

I can see them staying on for a third, but I can see them doing more than that.

    1976 Election Without Watergate

Ford, who is still VP without Watergate, sits the election out as I doubt he'd have the ambition to run without first being President. My guess the main contest on the Republican side is either Reagan vs. Percy or Reagan vs. Rockefeller, with John Connally being a third place candidate. Reagan...

What if the Nintendo Wii U Was Successful?

Better marketing and having the gamepad be optional as opposed to making it a necessity for the console to work are just two ways off the top of my head to make the Wii U more successful.

Ted Kennedy's chances of winning the presidency without Chappaquiddick

I think he sees Nixon as unbeatable in 1972 and sits it out, so I think anytime between 1976 and 1992 is when he'd make a go for it.

The Amazing Number of Democrats Who Didn't Run in 1992

I would imagine so. His son is alive today.

The Amazing Number of Democrats Who Didn't Run in 1992

I think without the Gulf War, Bush's vulnerabilities would've been apparent sooner and thus you'd be looking at a much different Democratic field. Cuomo likely goes for it, given how close he was to doing so OTL, Gephardt and Bradley are also likely to give it a go as well. 50/50 on Nunn. That...

1968 Election if JFK Had Lived

Kennedy beats Goldwater in '64 by a decisive margin, though not by the landslide margin that Johnson did OTL. The Democrats gain in congress that year as well, though again I doubt they get the super majorities of OTL either. Civil Rights still happens, though it isn't as comprehensive as OTL...

Would Jimmy Carter have won in 1980 without the Iranian Revolution?

So with this in mind, would 1980 be as big of a landslide as OTL? Would the Democrats still lose the Senate?

Would Jimmy Carter have won in 1980 without the Iranian Revolution?

How would a lack of the Iranian Revolution increase Jimmy Carter's re election prospect? This event triggered the Hostage Crisis, which initially rallied the country behind Carter but hurt him as the crisis dragged on, and it also contributed to the economic woes of 1979 and 1980. Would a lack...

    No Lee Atwater in 1988?

Bush might have a tougher fight for the nomination without Atwater, as wasn't it him that stopped Dole's momentum after Iowa? If this is true and Dole is nominated, Dukakis might actually win the general.

How does Reagan assasinated affect the conservative movement?

Than he'd stand a good chance of losing in 1984.

How does Reagan assasinated affect the conservative movement?

The deficit in 1981 wasn't what it was in 1990, plus how else would Bush appease the Reaganites in this TL?

How does Reagan assasinated affect the conservative movement?

They (even if begrudgingly) rally behind Bush, though I think Bush will throw a bone to the right in the form of Tax Cuts and his VP pick. A "true Conservative" probably emerges sometime in the 90s or 2000s.
