What if Alexander the Great lived to his 50s or 60s?

Say he had taken a few years to consolidate, recover his health & organise his newly acquired empire & treasury. He could have raised a massive new army, if not from the Persians then from the myriad subject peoples whom he had "liberated" from the Persians. Organised & trained by his...

    Hadrian's Consolidation - reboot

I didn't look at Ah.com for over a year, so when I came back i had forgotten much of the details of the stories I had been following. So I went back to the beginning of this story and followed it through, it seems consistent to me, a little bit fast on the technical advances but not obvious...

    WI: northern 'england' remains brythonic?

Bonus points if the Columbian religious establishment (i hesitate to actually describe it as a Church) grows strong enough to resist the pressure & impositions of the Roman Church.

A Blunted Sickle - Thread II

Methamphetamine ? If you find the time in your busy busy life, could you please explain how this contributed to the success of the Blitzkrieg. Genuinely ignorant & curious.

The Golden Dragon of Wales: A Glyndwr Rebellion TL

Seems like a lively character, & it can't all be about people knocking each others heads off.

The Golden Dragon of Wales: A Glyndwr Rebellion TL

Bosworth ! Sounds familiar. Wouldn't the Northumbrians launch a counter invasion looking for reparations, possibly joined by the Welsh, looking for… well, loot ?

Why didn't Islamic sultanates adopt full plate armor?

Since you seem to know about this subject, what was the Mongol view on armour, & did it change over the lifetime of their empire ?

The Golden Dragon of Wales: A Glyndwr Rebellion TL

I thought that you were going to do a re-run of the Norman Conquest for a few paragraphs. How about a joint England(s)/Welsh/Irish revenge raid against France, not so much to conquer territory but to grab as much riches as possible ?

    Hadrian's Consolidation - reboot

Nice photos, amazing how anybody could put the effort in to finesse the hair on some of these generally ugly looking dudes, not to mention the worry lines & wrinkles.

The Golden Dragon of Wales: A Glyndwr Rebellion TL

Cumbria & Strathclyde had originally a strong "Welsh" cultural core, not sure how much of this survived into the Middle Ages, certainly the Cumbric language was still spoken in the 1800's, or so i've read. Might this be a possible axis of future Welsh ambition ?

    Hadrian's Consolidation - reboot

Didn't the Mongols chew up massive crossbow armed Chinese armies, outranging them whilst riding rings around them ? A world without the Mongols would be equally as sad as a world without the Spitfire :'(

    Hadrian's Consolidation - reboot

Or the Celts, there is a theory knocking around about a Welsh prince & an expedition that was never heard of again.
