  1. Request Maps/Flags/Coats of Arms/Heraldry here, II

Wow, thanks both of you! They both look great.
  2. Request Maps/Flags/Coats of Arms/Heraldry here, II

Would anyone be so kind as to change the stars on this flag so that they're white, rather than gold? (the image editor I use is crap and isn't smart enough to recognize how close the different yellow pixels are, and I don't have the patience to manually switch them all while my daughter is...
  3. Franco-American relations if French Revolution produces Constitutional Monarchy?

Quite likely - unless it marginalizes the king because portions of the government think he's sympathetic to the invaders, but not enough to depose him. Another issue is that we've been assuming that Great Britain would be part of this war, but perhaps it is only France v the Continental powers.
  4. Flag Thread V

Piggy backing off this (now that I have a free moment on my computer while my daughter tries to go to sleep), I really wanted a way to represent 7 continents (or even 6). Poking around, I found this website, which has a proposed flag of the planet Earth. Then, I found some variations from...
  5. Franco-American relations if French Revolution produces Constitutional Monarchy?

Who said anything about stable? France could still end up in a major war with other European powers as a Constitutional Monarchy. Perhaps France's instability is inviting enough to encourage other states to attack. Of course, Prussia and Austria would likely be interested in 'restoring the...
  6. Franco-American relations if French Revolution produces Constitutional Monarchy?

What variables do you think change the result the most? If we assume a Constitutional Monarchy, thus preserving the formality of the alliance, and France being attacked, preserving the purpose, what would impact the US reaction?
  7. Request Maps/Flags/Coats of Arms/Heraldry here, II

So, inspired by this misplace - but quickly fulfilled - request in the flag thread: Can anyone come up with a good way to signify 5, 6, or 7 (as in continents) with this starting point? I thought of turning the NATO 4-pointed star into one with more points, but that might be a bit too busy.
  8. WI: The US had 400 million people?

Some discussions are about how to achieve a given result. Others are about what happens woth a given result. And, as amended, we’re only looking at 17% increase in growth from 1918 onward, and I’m figuring half of that comes from immigration (to keep demographic trends recognizable), meaning...
  9. Flag Thread V

Bingo! I made the mistake of multitasking on a mobile device.
  10. Flag Thread V

Request: Could someone put the NATO flag in the canton of the US flag? If you’re more ambitious, feel free to switch the NATO star to 5-, 6-, or 7- points.
  11. WI: The US had 400 million people?

Why would the population be noticeably younger if this trend has been going on for a century? I can’t help but notice a tendency to interpret everything as “and in this alternate history, US politics will resemble my own more” lately.
  12. Franco-American relations if French Revolution produces Constitutional Monarchy?

Or Spanish North America, or both. The question is, would they? Washington was not at all keen on getting dragged into a war, so what excuse would he have for refusing?
  13. Franco-American relations if French Revolution produces Constitutional Monarchy?

And if France was attacked, and asked for America to come to its aid?
  14. WI: The US had 400 million people?

Do you have any stats that show that a national healthcare system actually produces higher growth rates? Anyway, the topic isn’t concerned with how to achieve the result, but what happens if it does. Also, we’re looking at 17% higher growth, which isn’t drastic.
  15. Franco-American relations if French Revolution produces Constitutional Monarchy?

Assume the following: The French Revolution produces a Constitutional Monarchy under King Louis and that the French Revolutionary Wars still start more or less on schedule. Since America declared its neutrality in spite of its alliance with France in no small part because the treaty was with...
  16. Hyper-Unipolar World

I’m less interested in the specifics of how to get there, just what international affairs are like in such a world.
  17. Hyper-Unipolar World

I’ve looked into this, and all I’ve seen is 50% of industrial capacity. It topped out around 30% of GDP.
  18. Hyper-Unipolar World

I don’t see anything impossible about that or other scenarios.
  19. Hyper-Unipolar World

I'd like to keep this as broad as possible, so I won't be focusing on any one particular candidate for the hyperpower in this scenario. Whichever you think is most likely (larger US, united Europe that avoided WW1/2 and maintains their colonies, etc). The only restriction is that this must be a...
  20. WI: The US had 400 million people?

The point is what would be different if we already reached this point.
