  1. Butterfly analysis: America doesn't keep Philippines as colony

Well, given the Philippine culture, I'd expect a situation simialr to that of Cuba arise. A lot of corruption, and an unstable government. After all, Aguinaldo opposed giving reforms to the peasants, so a more entrenched government might mean more fertile ground for the Communists to take over.
  2. The War of Mexican Intervention? (~1995)

Great story. But from reading Blochead's new TL, i guess it'l be a while before he does another update on this one.:(
  3. Historia Mundi

When's an update on this? It's been a while since I read, but I have to say, I like the updates. The only thing I want to know is, what's the green territory in the country known as Mespotamia called. And I await the arrival of Iskander, promised since the 1st version of your Roman TL,(though...
  4. The Sea People

The best that can be hoped for is that Gidona's rulers slowly and covertly start raising popular support to expel Cyrenian influence from their land.
  5. Worst Dictator of All time

I voted for Pol Pot, because Nguema was just a nutty egoist who remorselessly killed his opponents, while Pol Pot, deliberately tried to turn his country back to the Stone Age, and didn't even try to benefit the people, instead depriving them of the food they needed. As for the other, Hitler...
  6. Admiral-Emperor Yi and Japan invaded by Turtles.

I can't remeber anything about Yi having any political ambitions, but I think it might be possible, with some Chinese support, to launch an invasion, to ensure that Japan would never have the power to threaten Korea again.
  7. Chaos TL: A world without Genghis Khan's conquests (finished!)

    I agree. That's a terrible ending.:p:mad:
  8. The Sea People

Great stuff, please continue! But it doesn't seem like Simeon ben Mala'hai would want to be a puppet for long. But the way things stand, it doesn't look like he has much choice. But Cyrene will surely get in a major war with some one else.
  9. The Chinese nations

I don't completely agree with what Cicero says. The state of Qin was already becoming the most powerful state in China before Qin Shihungdi came to power. Their takeover would merely have been delayed if they didn't have a leader like him. China's geography is hilly, and doesn't have mountains...
  10. BRITONS TRIUMPHANT: An Alternate History of Dark Age Britain

I ooriginally read it in a travel book by Reader's Digest, and I admit I was a little more interested in other things besides the Norse explorations in North America. All I really know about is Vinland,( they left because one of them killed a native and started a conflict if I remember) with...
  11. BRITONS TRIUMPHANT: An Alternate History of Dark Age Britain

I read the last part about the Missippians, and I thought to ask, did you ever hear of that rock with Norse runes they found in Oklahoma? The archaelogists were at a loss to figure out what it was doing there, but those who are proponents of more extended pre-Columbian contact than many people...
  12. Super triumph for Lincoln

Okay, I really don't understand why Lincoln would take command of the army. He was a politician, not a general, and he knew well enough to leave the fighting to the professionals. If Lincoln found out about the Confederate battle plans, he would probably immidiately order an agressive attack...
  13. Decades of Darkness

How did I somehow think that Mullins was going to find a scapegoat for the problems he was having. I was starting to think there wasn't anything particular analogous of Mullins to well-known OTL strategies.
  14. Cyrus the younger defeats Artajerjes II in Cunaxa

Like Hecatee said, this TL is great. I'm just eager to see what happens next, and I wonder if a balance of power situation may develop for a while. But'd that's be rather boring.
  15. 1310: The Year Mali Discovered America

It's great to see another sub-Saharan african TL. Many other people neglect, probably because of it's general lack of world importance, but also because the average knowledge of civilizations in this region is less than the average knowledge of india or the far east. It'd be nice to see an...
  16. Mesopotamian Alternate History

I can thnk of a few. What if the Akkad Empire lasted longer? What if Mitannia survived? What if Elam became a great kingdom. What if Ashurbanipal had a competent successor? What if Judea remains independent past 587 BC? The list goes on, but you'll probably have to look up the details that...
  17. A much larger Rome that survives until the present day.

T-N-T, Dyn-O-Mite!!I probably sound a little excited, but I was jsut lsitening to AC/DC, and then I come and find that you have finally updated this thread!:) Please, by all means, continue! You sure got no argument from me. I would have nominated you for a Tutledove, but I was gone at the time...
  18. An Ancient World in Modern Times

His friends' name was Hephistophales. and it wasn't a cold alexander died from, it was a fever, possibly caused by drinking too much alcohol, but there;s still a minor possiblity he was poisoned(the subject of my TL, which i know is back a ways, so i'll link since i know you probably haven't...
  19. WI Varus beats Arminius?

Yeah, it was actually his pro_roamnuncle, who was pissed off that Arminius wanted his adughter. of course varus was so stupid, he thought it was jsut segatstes anger at arminius.
  20. An Ancient World in Modern Times

I don't really come on this board too much(partly because the chair in front of the computer makes my back hurt), but I think I can help. I totally agree with your first statement. That's why I started to post a AH sequence om here within the first couple of weeks I joined, and it was about...
