  1. Look to the West (Thande's first proper timeline, and it's about time!)

Then where does that leave "These Hills"? :( ;) Nasty, Short, Brutish. Some sort of war? Or more subtle... Assasination?
  2. Greatest AH.com: Basileus' Interference TL Grade

    As I said before, a well-deserved win! :D
  3. Look to the West (Thande's first proper timeline, and it's about time!)

Dr. Pylos? Nice. Coronation of the Hun? Very nice. British royalty in Frederickburg? Awesome! I love where you're going with this TL. A bit different from my style, never really had the patience for this sort of prose type stuff. But nonetheless, quite, QUITE good. I want to know what...
  4. The Holy Roman Empire, and German Nationalism

Oh, getting Catholic parts of Germany unified is the easy part. It's getting all Germans under a national banner with a surviving HRE that's tricky. The very institution that is the HRE seems to me to prevent unification, as it stresses royal (or at least, Ducal) interests, not national...
  5. The Holy Roman Empire, and German Nationalism

So, presume that for some reason (let's presume no Napoleonic Conquest. Use whatever PoD you like) the Holy Roman Empire lives on. How would the Holy Roman Empire have proceeded to develop, and would it have hindered or helped the formation of a unified state?
  6. These Hills Sing of Saxon Kings

Thank you! Yep. Call it historical determinism, but still, Scotland's survivial with that kind of power in England is highly unlikely. Yep. France is quite powerful (despite being unable to destroy Portugal/Castile. But it DID have Italy to worry about, in its defense) I have some...
  7. EU 3 Demo out

CK plays VERY DIFFERENT from any other P'dox game, but somehow still FEELS like a P'dox game. In the game, you actually take the role of the ruler of the nation, and bloodlines are very important. One of the most gratifying feelings in gaming is when I, as the King of Bohemia, inherited the...
  8. EU 3 Demo out

This very feature is what IMHO made CK the second best of all P'dox games (after EU2). Just so many missed opportunities for P'dox. I dunno if I'm going to buy it. Often times Demos don't do justice to a game. I'll have to see what the reviews are on the P'dox forums.
  9. EU 3 Demo out

Seconded. Do you suffer from extremely slow scroll speeds as well? It seems to me as though Paradox is veering dangerously far from a winning formula.
  10. These Hills Sing of Saxon Kings

I was supposed to change that second Edmund III into Edmund IV. :o Had to on account of me forgetting about Edmund Ironside when numerating these regnal names. Will change. Thanks! :)
  11. These Hills Sing of Saxon Kings

@All Thank you! The world map is shaping up to be pretty interesting as well. That'll come tommorow. :)
  12. The Coronation of the Hun

@Thande Thank you very much! :D Yeah, liked this old TL. Whoever said that early on in the thread was right, we do need more TLs based on alternate ethnic migrations... :D *Likes that one* ;) Well, after quickly bastardizing some Slavic words, I've come up with "Severcloveki"...
  13. These Hills Sing of Saxon Kings

Did I disappear again? NO! It's the update! A few things have yet to be added (still need to work out exactly how I'm going to work out what happens on the Iberian peninsula, and the first few years of King Wilhelm I's reign... but I've said too much.) Hope you enjoy. :)...
  14. These Hills Sing of Saxon Kings

*Bump* I'm sorry, guys. Combonation comp-trouble/busy schedule/writer's block is a bitch when you got a TL to write. :( Good news is, we'll have it for sure tommorow. I'm busy the rest of the evening, and felt like I owed some sort of explanation why it's going to be two days late. I...
  15. These Hills Sing of Saxon Kings

England has a large bit of Holland proper, but most of it is incorporated into the territories of Luxembourg-Guelders (which include Guelders and Brandeburg) Holy Roman Empire as a whole, really. Or the HRE (who has been for a while technically King of Hungary) may sell the crown to Poland...
  16. These Hills Sing of Saxon Kings

Hey guys, just bumping this to let you know to expect an update Sunday (tommorrow)
  17. These Hills Sing of Saxon Kings

In S. Africa, it's France and England. In Canada, it's not so much as a dispute so much as a confusion as to who has dominance... Well, I'll explain when I go to edit the TL. It involves the English Government and a Swedish company... Anyways, as for the rest of the continent, nobody REALLY...
  18. These Hills Sing of Saxon Kings

Well, it's interesting you brought that up...:p
  19. These Hills Sing of Saxon Kings

@Thande Now that's an interesting article! A Saxon King! And now, El Map-o! In Mundovision! Some things I forgot to mention include contested South Africa and semi-contested OTL Hudson Bay area...
  20. The Coronation of the Hun

The Gripping Conclusion The gripping conclusion!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1501 AD - Kallistos, the last of the Byzantines, the great discoverer of the New World, dies. The Safavid State is established in this year, with the capture of Tabriz. 1502 AD - The Burgundians...
