Chapter 5
On 1338, Edward III of France and England would grant Jeanne II of Navarre’s younger son, Louis the county of Champagne as well as the succession rights to Evreux to restore her rightful territory in France despite having her paternity in doubt. The Navarrese would be less likely to assert their claim to France itself as the inheritance is divided and Charles would only gain Navarre from his mother.

The Navarrese would focus on their relations with the Kingdom of Aragon and France and they would be too weak to claim France.
