"Panzerfaust Der Kaiser"
1998
The most expensive movie ever made at the time of its release, with a staggering runtime of 3 hours and 43 minutes and over a decade of work gone into the project, Panzerfaust Der Kaiser, or The Kaiser's Armored Fist in the American release, was a war drama and historical movie centered around the 10 divisions of the 1st Expeditionary Force under the command of Omar Bradley sent to aid the Reichspakt during the second Weltkreig.

The movie begins following the second American Civil War, with MacArthur consolidating power as the American Caesar. After much convincing from Eisenhower, Bradley and other members of his staff, MacArthur is shown signing the bundle of bills collectively known as the Amnesty and Reconciliation Acts, which offered pardons to those who had fought for the defeated AUS, CSA and PSA; allowed the generals to return to the ranks of the US Army; allowed the companies that had sided with the other factions to stay in business; and even permitted union activity within the United States.

The movie then follows Bradley as he and other officers attempt to integrate their former enemies back into the Union. Bradley is shown to work closely with the top generals of the other factions, and the audience is given a brief summary of his attempts to incorporate the various doctrinal innovations that his former opponents had made into a single cohesive battle theory. The AUS under Patton had adopted an extremely aggressive armored approach that had given the Federals fits, the CSA's use of artillery had been top of the line and their ability to rapidly train officers had been second to none, and the PSA's ability to dig in and become unmovable at a moment's notice are all elaborated on by Bradley as he works to weld them together with the reformation that the Federal forces had undergone at the direction of Field Marshall Craig.

We are also shown a fairly rapid sequence showing the various pardoned companies working together on projects to demonstrate their affirmed loyalty to MacArthur's government. A new rifle is demonstrated, named the King CRAB after the four main companies involved in its creation: Colt, Remington, Auto-Ordinance, Browning. A joke is made about how it's a good thing that Smith & Wesson wasn't involved. New models of tanks, aircraft, artillery, and motorized vehicles are also swiftly demonstrated.

The movie then cuts to Europe, where the second Weltkreig has been raging for nearly two years. Two Sicilies had already fallen, Switzerland had been overtaken by Syndicalist revolutionaries, and with the Internationale on one side and Savinkov's Russia on the other, the Reichspakt is hard-pressed, losing ground slowly but surely on both fronts. Several scenes are shown of brave but outnumbered Reichspakt soldiers being pushed back.

Back in the US, we are introduced to several people that we will follow throughout the movie. A southern boy from Texas who had only been 16 when the war broke out and he'd joined the AUS as a crack shot named Connor Locke, a hulking factory worker from Detroit named Jesse Tabor who'd joined the CSA in the hopes of ending segregation and ushering in a more just society, a Federalist code talker known only as Klah, a medic from Oregon named Sophie Hahn who'd received three awards for courage under fire, and an amateur stunt flyer from Vermont who'd sat out the war in Canadian controlled New England named Meriwether Brown.

With the Reichspakt hard pressed, and neither the Russia nor the Internationale having any real way to reach and hurt them following the overthrow of the Syndicalist government in Mexico, MacArthur agrees to send 10 divisions and an attached air wing to Germany to try to support the Reichspakt, which was seen as the lesser evil compared to the Internationale or Russia.

From there, the movie turns into a whirlwind of action as the men and women of the Expeditionary Force try to come together through the hell of the war in Europe. Here the movie is praised for its masterful blending of character and action, as well as it's character development through action as the former foes must learn to put aside their grudges and simply be Americans again. Accurate set-pieces take us along with the 1st Expeditionary group, from the desperation of the Siege of Frankfurt to the joy of the Liberation of Brussels, from their heroic stand and almost complete annihilation at the Third Miracle of the House of Brandenburg to their triumphant assault as they led the charge to take Petrograd.

Each of the main characters is given ample opportunity to shine in some of the best practical effects ever put on film. Some have criticized the film for the romance between Connor and Sophie, however that aspect of the film has also received praise for showing the stress and strain of the war and the need for human contact and support even in the most trying of times.

And the times are trying indeed, the film does not shy away from blood and gore, or from the casualties. The expeditionary force is continually whittled down throughout the movie, until the end of the war in 1946, when only 19 of the original force remain.

The epilogue of the film shows a mixture of the bleak devastation of the war juxtaposed with the beginning of the rebuilding, and while the score was incredibly throughout the move, the uplifting chorus that slowly builds in strength blended with the haunting notes of grief and despair are a masterwork of using music to invoke emotions and heighten the scene.

The movie ends with a shot of the memorial to the 1st Expeditionary Force in Berlin, an upward shot at a herculean man with the flag of the US draped over his left shoulder and the flag of the German Empire draped over his right, bowed in an Atlas pose as he carries Germany, one hand wrapped around Silesia and the other holding Nancy as the breadth of the Empire rests on his broad shoulders.

In a 2010 poll, it was ranked as the 3rd best movie of all time, behind "Napoleon" and "Galaxy Battles".

Iron Man can work with the PSA.

Tom Hanks in the 2015 film Bridge of Spies. Set in 1960, it is a dramatisation of the events surrounding the retrieval of Internationale spy-plane pilot Geraldyn Cobb - later a major figure in the Internationale space programme - from Russian custody following her plane being shot down. This scene was shot on the Glienicke Bridge, where a number of such exchanges between Syndicalist West Germany and the Voynist East German State took place.

Art of Wonder Woman. While the superhero genre as a whole is only one component of the overall comics industry - and as a whole, not even the most popular* - it has spawned several iconic individual characters: Superman; Captain America; The Arachnid...and Diana of Themyscira, aka Wonder Woman. Created by William Moulton Marston, his wife Elizabeth Holloway Marston and their mutual partner Olive Byrne in 1940, and written by them until Marston’s own death in 1970**, the comic series would prove incredibly popular with young people in North America, especially young women. It would go on to spawn the iconic television show starring Lynda Carter that ran from 1975 to 1980, two film spin-offs of the series, and with the character’s entry into the public domain two revivals have been created: the new critically-acclaimed comic series by Gail Simone and Croatian artist/writer Stjepan Sejic, which crosses the Wonder Woman character over with his original supernatural investigator character ‘Allycat’ and has earned considerable praise for its depiction of the two female leads and their relationship; and a series of young adult novels by Diane Duane***. Production is also beginning on a series simply titled ‘Amazons’, which will star Ruby Rose as the Amazon Io and Laura Benanti as Hippolyta, Diana’s mother and Elected Archon of the Amazons, and will chronicle the developing relationship between Themyscira and ‘Man’s World’ following Diana’s opening of the island.
A/N: *Without Seduction of the Innocent and the Comics Code, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, crime and other adventure comics remained major competitors with superhero works so the superhero genre as a whole isn’t so big ITTL.

** No cancer due to butterflies :p

*** Owing to a different structure of comic publishing, the Unions etc., most superhero characters are now public domain and there’s no ‘definitive universe’ - if you want to write a story about Superman you can, if the readers like your version it’s canon for them and if they don’t it gets ignored.

I see a lot of posts about individual working superheroes in a syndicalist world. I would think it much more likely that there would be much more comics on teams in such a world because this would tie in more to the collective nature of the society. I'm not saying the US would lose it's individualist nature at once, and therefore abandon the idea of superheroes alltogether, but a subtle change like the team being the core unit of the superheroes world would be likely.

Iron Man can work with the PSA.
Yes, but this would be the easy and boring way and things are never easy in a Marvel universe. I mean we talking about Iron Man, billionare and weapon manufacturer. A character so anti-red, that he had Nikita Krustshev as an opponent. Definitly he will not sit at the Pacific and wait till the Syndies come for him.
So I think it will go this way: As the 2ACW starts, things are more chaotic in NYC then anywhere else. A lot of red militias start up to defend the city, not all under central controll and some more radical then others. Such a radical militia storms Stark Mansion and take badly wounded Tony as a hostage. Like in comics and MCU Tony creates the Iron Man suit to escape.
Other possible characters: Militia pilot Carol Danvers has an encounter of a third kind. In Africa, the King of Wakanda decided, that Hermann göring has gone to far.

Tony Stark could go to Canada, they don't like Syndies up there

Kōji Yakusho as Admiral Yamamoto Isoroku in the large-budget 2011 Japanese war movie The Admiral, recounting the life of Grand Admiral (and later Prime Minister) Yamamoto. The film explores the Admiral’s career, his involvement in the burgeoning democratic movement in Japan and his role in thwarting the attempted coup of 1938, as well as his encouraging Japnese leadership to cede Hawaii back to the Commonwealth of America to prevent future strife, and his planning and executing the Combined Fleet’s carrier strike on German Singapore in 1939, the strike that allowed the Japanese invasion of German and Dutch colonies in South-East Asia and landings in Southern China to proceed.

Unlike earlier films of the war, which portray Japan’s brief conflict with Germany in a triumphal, jingoistic manner that emphasises Japanese military might and the idea of Japan as a liberating force to the peoples of Asia, The Admiral details the fragility of Japanese democracy in its early stages, how often the country skated close to disaster thanks to militarist elements, and how while the war was a success it could easily have gone horribly wrong had Russia not focused its attention westward rather than striking east as could have happened. It aldo outlines the more material and economic factors at play in the decision to liberate South-East Asia, and is critical of the Japanese invasion of China, pointing to how it led to partition between the Russian-backed Qing on the one hand, and the unwieldy fusion of Fengtien Manchuria and Japanese-occupied Southern China into the new Republic of China on the other.

Despite not being well-received by more conservative Japanese, it was a major hit and is well-liked by most.

particuraly how to solve Sybral's arc here
The problem I have here is that in this scenario, I dont know where it is better to place her, on one hand I want someone to stay in the Union of Britian and provide a point of view in the struggles there with foreshadowing for it fall into Corruption but on the other hand, Branson being Irish does provide abit of complication especially for this world due to Syndiclaist conquest and forceful decades long occupation...

Cover for the Reprint of George Lucas's popular pulp Sci Fi Adventure series The Star Wars. Inspired by Lucas's time in Japan and China as well as old Syndicate War Serials, The Star Wars Chronicles the heroic Revolutionary Alliance's struggle against the sinister Galactic Empire through the eyes of noble Chiefess Leia Vung, dashing agitator and Saboteur Hando Sun, and poor farmer turned general Luke Starwalker.

In addition to the rebellions struggle against the Empire there is also the schism in the mystic order of Ancient Ones, Psychics who used their powers to create harmony in the galaxy and their trademark Light Swords to keep the peace. However, half of the order sided with the Empire and attacked the other half. A significant part of the story is Hando learning to use his powers and become an Ancient himself.

The Reprints were issued in 2001, first recoloring and adding a few panels to issue 37-80 and releasing a remake of issue 1-36, which had mostly been lost or had become completely unreadable due to the poor quality of paper they were printed on. The rerelease of issue 37-80 was praised for the stunning colors and making the universe feel more lived in with extra panels detailing the background, but issue 1-36 was controversial.

For one thing Lucas's notes on the originals turned out to be far less extensive than he originally suggested, so more of the plot was made up from whole cloth than fans thought. Secondly very few people had actually read the original 36 issues, and the original conflict being the fall of a corrupt Republic rather than a feudal kingdom was against what a lot of people had imagined. Although Elements such as the Schism and Clone Wars had been hinted at the reality proved to be fairly lackluster compared to what people had been imagining for decades. Additionally there were some stylistic choices such as the pre Imperial Ancients having Blue and white light swords in addition to the more established Red.

Regardless, the series was still popular enough to keep going. Rather than another series of comics it was decided to move the franchise to film with a sequel about Hando and Leia's daughter Ruan and her adventures fighting a resurgent Empire.
