A grainy and faded photo of three unknown armored vehicles attacking fleeing US Marines on the Korean Peninsula, circa January 11th, 1951. Western Intelligence would originally believe that these were brand new Soviet Secret Weapons being deployed against UN Forces in Korea, they would soon discover otherwise.

Japanese Type 32 tank fighting in Manchuria during the Second Russo-Japanese War, c. 1941.

The Type 32 was a revolution in Japanese - and other - tank design. However, it was one where Japanese designs and ambition considerably outstripped their industrial ability. Even with advances made over the course of the early 20th century, Japan's factories were only capable of manufacturing small numbers of the tanks by 1932, and that at a far too slow, far too resource-intensive rate. So it was that the Japanese government approached the governments of Britain and the German Republic - then beginning a slow process of rearming - and offered a deal: in exchange for both nations agreeing to build tanks for Japan at a reasonable fee, Japan would license production for their own armed forces. The tank - named the 'Centurion' in Britain and the 'Tiger' in Germany, and improved with a number of suggestions from engineers in the nations in question - would become the mainstay of the three nations' armed forces during their interlocking conflicts with the Russian Empire, proving superior to any model that the Russian armed forces were using at the outset of the conflict. The Type 32 would continue to serve - with upgrades - until the mid-1960s in the armed forces of the nations responsible for its production, as well as in the militaries of Japan's Asian alliance partners.

Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seoul. The chief residence of the Imperial Family of Korea, and a major tourist attraction for the Empire of Korea. Its precincts also contain the Pan-Asian Assembly Building, constructed in 1951 as the main legislative headquarters of the Pan-Asian Alliance. Although Japan was the leading member of the Alliance at that time - and remains the leading naval and one of the leading economic powers - the genro decided that citing Alliance headquarters in Seoul would generate a great deal of face for the Korean government, as well as indicating Japanese sincerity about the Alliance being a partnership rather than an informal Japanese hegemony (arguably that was exactly what it was up until the 1980s, but it didn't quite appear to be thanks to gestures like this).

Jiro_Horikoshi.jpg

Horikoshi Jiro (1903-1985), lead aircraft designer with Onimaru Heavy Industries when it branched out into aircraft production. Was heavily involved with the design of multiple aircraft including the Kikka jet fighter, the Huou multirole fighter, the YS-11 airliner and other such projects, both civilian and military. He was 'headhunted' by Onimaru from an early stage, even before he had finished his third-level studies - something that confused many, as while Horikoshi had been a talented student, there was no sign of just what a visionary he would become. However, it paid off handsomely for Japan and East Asia as a whole.

I'm sensing timetravel...

Heh heh heh...

Yeah. ITTL, Onimaru, the ‘New Genro’, plus others are time travellers. A conspiracy of them - they went back, established themselves with solid credentials in the military, business etc., then began working to pull Japan away from insane militarism and towards democracy while also working to grow the nation as a power - they wanted it to be powerful, just not insane or trying to directly rule half of Asia. Though by the 1970s, most of them are dead or retired and Japan is running itself effectively as a parliamentary democracy.

With the emergence of monsters onto the world scene, a photo is published by retired Irish seaman Paddy 'The Pig' Fitzpatrick. The photo, according to Paddy, shows what really sank the Titanic back in 1912. Wherein it was believed to have been an iceberg that tore a gash in the ocean liner, the photo showed that what tore the gash was the dorsal spines of a slimbering monster:

One week after the release of the "Paddy the Pig" photo, Beijing airport was destroyed by an unknown giant monster. The attack came without warning and the airport was decimated by the attack. The few survivors from the attack state that while the monster was never seen, they did hear it's roar; with one survivor Kyokyo Rai saying that "The roar sounded like a screeching bell":

To combat the rise in giant monsters, the Japanese Air Self-Defence Force and the United States Airforce work on a joint project. The specialised airforce unit is dubbed "Ghost Rider Squadron" and is equipped with prototype maser-cannons developed by the JSDF as well as the latest in stealth technology courtesy of the US Airforce:

The residents of Okinawa are shocked when they wake up to find the carcas of a giant monster washed ashore on Maezato Beach. The JSDF and US Navy quarentine the beach as specialists begin a necropsy on the giant monster. After several hours, the necropsy results reveal that the monster died of internal heamoraging after suffering several injuries which the experts say were inflicted by another as-yet unknown giant monster:

Deciding to combat the rise in monsters and the fear that standard firearms can no longer offer protection against the rising kaiju menace, PMC BlueForce Gear announces it is developing what it says is "The next step in home defence" and unveils the RaptorSaur; a clone Velociraptor that is armed and can wear night-vision goggles and carry emergency supplies. Each RaptorSaur can be tailored to the needs of the consumer and each owner must be fully licensed and is given a thourough background check before being allowed to purchase a RaptorSaur:

With the massive sucsess of the RaptorSaur, BlueForce Gear announces they are developing a new clone dinosaur for military purposes. Dubbed the TyrannoClone, this new clone can be heavily armed with all the latest missiles, cannons and any other heavy weapons the mission requires. Each TyrannoClone is fitted with a neurological control device called a "Brain-Box" which gives the military full control over each creature:

While combing through the US National Archives for information on the US Civil War, reporter Ryan Parrot dicovers a painting that shows the reason the British forces attacked Boston was not to stop the US War of Independance, rather it was to stop a hitherto unknown monster that had risen from the river and come ashore:

(Barbara Leigh in a test photo for the project) Many parent groups would criticise and denounce the film when it was released, many demanding that it be classified as a Video nasty, though this did not stop the film from gaining high VHS sales when it was eventually released. Vampirella would go on to gain two sequels made by Hammer Films, and additional straight to video sequels made by different studios and starring different actors.

A Stronger Loving World. Peace in Pieces.
1920px-Oscar_II_1915.jpg

The Peace Ship was the common name for the ocean liner Oscar II, on which American industrialist Henry Ford organized and launched his 1915 amateur and ultimately failed and fatal peace mission to Europe. Henry Ford, angered at the hawkish, militaristic actions of President Roosevelt would gather a number of peace advocates together, hoping to create enough publicity to prompt the belligerent nations to convene a peace conference and mediate an end to the war. Sadly, this peace mission would end in tragedy, as the ship would get sunk by a German U-Boat, killing Ford and all passengers. The incident would strengthen US involvement in the war.

Submachine-Guns of the CSA.

Mod2pasam.jpg

The first Confederate SMG to enter service would be the M1925 Machine Pistol, a locally made derivative of the C96 Pistol in .45 ACP. They were mainly used by the Confederate Navy and Air Force as well as the Police due to it's compact nature. These would be used until 1958 by the Navy and Air Force and 1959 by the Police when they were fully replaced by the Thompson. This firearm would be significant because it would be first major production gun to be built in the CSA, thus, they would have the reputation of being poorly built.
latest

In 1924, the Confederacy would purchase 25,000 SiG M1920 submachine-guns in 7.63x25mm from SiG to equip the Confederate Army and Navy.
on8744__2.jpg

The CSA would also buy 22,000 of the MP-28 II model of Submachine-gun from Haenel in the early 1930s in the same caliber. The M1920s and MP-28 would be used extensively by the Confederacy for military use until the early 1950s when they were supplanted by the Union built Thompson Submachine-Gun. They would remain in use with the Confederate Police until 1959 when they were replaced by the Thompsons and the M1 Carbines.
latest

In 1939, the Confederacy would purchase 10,000 Suomi M/31 Submachine Guns in 9x19mm from Finland as part of the increase of it's Military in the build up to WWII. Unfortunately, as these guns were about to be shipped out of Finland, the USSR would invade Finland and guns intended for the CSA would end up being pressed into service with the Finnish Army during the Winter War and the Continuation War. Some of them would also be used by the Soviet forces as well as the German Wehrmacht and the Independent State of Croatia.

When the Confederate Navy got into their possession the ex-British Light Cruisers Jamaica, Sirius, and Diadem and the Destroyers Cleveland, Cotswold, Farndale, and Racehorse, they subsequently came into possession of many Lanchester Submachine-Guns in 9x19mm Luger. These would be mainly used by the Confederate Coast Guard, Police, and Gendarme until the early 1970s when replaced by the West German built MP-5.
10495908_3.jpg

In the years following WWII, the Union would supply to the Confederate Government thousands of Thompson Submachine Guns as Foreign Aid. The Confederate Weapons Arsenal in Atlanta would produce copies known as the M1950 submacine gun in .45 ACP. The Confederate Army and Paratroop Corps would use the type until 1963 when they replaced by the FN FAL rifles. The Navy and Air Force would use their Thompsons until the late 1960s-early 1970s when replaced by the FALs, Uzis, and MP-5s. The Coast Guard would keep theirs until the 1973 when they were replaced by the Israeli made Uzis. The Gendarme would be the final user of the type in the Confederacy, when in 1991, they retired their last Thompsons.

In 1961, the Confederacy would adopt into service the Israeli built Uzi Submachine Gun in .45 ACP. They would become popular with the Confederate Tank Crews and Paratroops due to it's compact nature. The Police, Presidential Guard, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Gendarme, Task Force 7, and the Georgian Knights would too adopt the weapon.

In 1969, the Confederate Government would purchase from H&K 20,000 MP-5 SMGs in .45 ACP for it's Air Force and Police Forces.
csm_MP5K_re_22fd18d65c.png

One of the derivatives of the MP-5, the MP-5k in 9x19mm, would be mainly used by the Presidential Guard, Task Force 7, and various counter-terrorist units in the CSA.

In 2004, the Confederate Paratroop Corps would adopt the H&K MP7 as a replacement for the IMI Uzi in .45 ACP. They are currently also being used by Task Force 7 and the Navy.

The campaign poster for British TV personality and opinion host David Silverton's successful Independent campaign for Prime Minister.
His party "The Silverton Party" would run on a nationalist, anti immigrant message of restoring the UK to its former glory. The poster seen above was one of many variants, many tinted in the colours red, white and blue, and baring slogans like: "Lets save England" or more popularly "Lets save the Empire".
