While fighting against Ottomans, many women volunteered into Kurdish military forces, wanting to end tyranny of Constantinople's regime, gender equality and freedom of religion. During the war, old Zoroastrian or Oriental Christian practices were revived by many people who did not wish to follow Islam way of life.
