The Amero-Japanese Empire

Disclaimer: This timeline is absurd. In no way would the U.S. and Japan have united into a single country (mainly due to Japanese pride and American "distaste"). This timeline is purely fun (and non-ASB since it is unrealistic in the way of events, not in the way of changing geography or adding time travel). Anyways, enjoy!

On the 4th of April, 1897, an agreement was made between Japanese Emperor Meiji and U.S. President McKinley. This agreement united the Empire of Japan and the United States of America into a single country: The Amero-Japanese Empire. Along with a unified state, the agreement also created a new currency (the "Greenback" Yen [¥]), a combined military, free travel within A.J.E. territory, and a duel-head-of-state government (The Japanese Emperor and the U.S. President both as head-of-state, with a congress) based in Kihei (Hawaii).

With the A.J.E. having both a large Germanic population in the former American territories and the former Japanese military being trained by the Germans, they decide to stay neutral in WW1 (since the U.S. and Japan uniting wouldn't throw WW1 off track, and Congress would want to stay neutral thanks to the practical self-sufficiency created by the size of the state), at least as long as they aren't provoked. So with both the U.S. and Japan of O.T.L. out of the picture, WW1 wouldn't have been global ( and would likely have been regarded as the Afro-Eurasian War) and its likely that the Central Powers would have won (due to the lack of American troops towards the end of the War). With the Afro-Eurasian War ending with a Central Powers victory, the A.J.E. would simply adjust to the new power in Europe: Germany.

Quick notes:
  • With the U.S. and Japan being one country, they would have almost complete domination over the Pacific Ocean, making them incredibly wealthy through controlling Pacific trade.
  • When the Militaries merged, training and equipment were also merged (A.J.E. troops had both U.S. guns and Japanese Katanas).
  • The Unification allowed Former U.S. and Japanese citizens to travel, live, and work anywhere in the A.J.E., meaning that English and Japanese had to be taught as equals in A.J.E. schools (making most A.J.E. citizens bilingual).

I actually checked on this before posting. ASB is for Geographic Changes, Time Travel, and Evolutionary Shifts.

Actually... Asb is for impossible stuff which include but not limited to geograpbic changes, time travel, evolutionary changes, and very inplausible stuff like if everyone in US sudennly have an urge to kill all emus.
