WI Greater Bosnia?

We have many "Greater Croatias" and infinite "Greater Serbias", so how many irredentist dreams can we manufacture for the little brother?

Diocletian made Sirmium (roughly in modern Bosnia) a regional capital during the Tetrarchy, so technically, the whole Roman Empire is just greater Bosnia, and history has robbed the noble Bosnio-Roman people of their glorious inheritance

Yes. Austria-Hungary annexes Sanjak of Novi Pazar as well. Possibly butterflying away the Balkan Wars (of OTL) as Serbia is getting surrounded by Austria-Hungary and there is no Ottomans cutting Montenegro from Serbia.

Edit: or Tito enforces it...

Er isn't it in Serbia? Only just but pretty sure Sremska Mitrova is built upon Sirmium.

Realistic "modern" Bosnia of greater size would need to be based on two factors.

1. Better Ottoman performance vs Venetisns in the Great War.

2. Getting direct independence from Ottomans and avoiding A-H occupation.

Which would result in modern borders similar to 1391 ones

If you want one larger then just OTL Bosnia + Sandzak. Have some of the neighboring Croats or Serbs communities convert to Islam.

Or just prevent the exodus between 1878 and 1912. That had a fundamental effect on the composition of Bosnia turning muslim population from plurality into a minority. Add Sandjak and Dalmatia minus the coastal cities and they would still be a plurality.

Oh God... even more Serbs... Montenegro could have been attached to Bosnia if the Ottomans tried it. But they never bothered.

Hmm...most "Greater Croatias" are Catholic and most "Greater Serbias" are Orthodox...would a "Greater Bosnia" be Muslim? If so, I think you might need to make Albania and Kosovo part of it. Perhaps the "Bosnian" aspect might be played up to encourage Albanian-Slavic Muslim solidarity and also encourage Slavic conversion to Islam.

Stefan Tvrtko's reign is more successful, perhaps as a result of Serbian vassalage after a reverse outcome at the Battle of Kosovo in 1389.

Increase the Muslim population somehow. Have the Ottomans deport multiple small Muslim minorities to mixed religion areas of the slavic Balkans. Say, a small bunch of Crimeans, a few Circasians and some Kurds here and there. A small enough amount that they can be expected to intermarry and assimilate in the long term. After independence, the Bosnian state would have a larger "claim" on territory, as religion defined ethnicity among those parts. They could even get some of Albania, but that would be bound to result in some separatism later if Albania ends up independent. Maybe take some pomak refugees if the Bulgarians decide to expell them and not everyone wants to go to Anatolia.
