However, Justinian denounced his attempt to be declared emperor of the west, and ever since the Byzantines have put pressure on the papacy to prevent giving the Archbishop autocephaly. And although Charles the Great has made Âlt Rî Leûn Caesar, he's followed the Byzantine's example with regards to the Archbishop
